Xiaomi Mi Vacuum 1C: start-up
As usual, the robot comes partially loaded, but It is advisable to fully charge it before using it for the first time. It is best to do a long first charge (for example, leave it overnight). Subsequently, it will take about 2-3 hours to fully charge it.
The charging base has a large infrared surface, to make it easier for the robot to find it and position itself on it.
It is advisable to place it in a central place in the house, as clear as possible and with enough space to the sides and in front (for example, one meter in each direction).
In any case, this is not strictly necessary either, since the robot has an advanced navigation system that allows it to move in places with little space.
The robot can be controlled using the buttons on its top, although it is best to manage it through the Xiaomi Mi Home app, from where we can access its advanced functions.
Installing the app
The Mi Home app is available for iOS and Android (for now, the Chinese server must be installed). Once installed and created an account (if you do not have one), by clicking on the + located at the top right, we can search for nearby devices automatically, or go to appliances and add the robot.
The app itself will guide us step by step through the installation and configuration process of connecting the robot to the network. If we have a dual router, we must make sure that the Wi-Fi for the connection must be 2,4 GHz, not the 5 GHz one (which will say 5G or similar).
Xiaomi Vacuum 1C: operation
The Xiaomi Vacuum 1C has an intelligent navigation system. It is not laser-based, as in the case of the Vacuum or the Vacuum 1S, but it does a very good job.
The engineers at Roborock, the manufacturer of Xiaomi, have done a good job in this regard. It was about achieving a function similar to that of the laser, but without laser.
How have they done it?
The Xiaomi Vacuum 1C has various navigation aid systems, which combined, obtain excellent results:
Thus, The movements of the Vacuum 1C are precise and efficient. The robot maps the home and moves in large straight lines, doing its job quickly.
As usual with the brand, The robot is equipped with a Nidec motor, of Japanese origin and without brushes, which reduces noise and extends its useful life.
The Vacuum 1C reaches 2.500 Pascals of suction power, the highest power of a Xiaomi robot to date.
Usually, Xiaomi robots stayed at a notable 2.000 Pascals, but With 1C they have decided to increase this figure to 2.500, so it is among the most powerful robots on the market, only surpassed by some models of Conga, like the 1690, the 3690, the 4090 and the almighty Conga 5090.
This power allows you to perform a magnificent work on all types of surfaces, both hard floors and rugs and carpets.
Furthermore, the robot It is capable of climbing carpets and obstacles up to 2 centimeters, so it is capable of cleaning carpets of a certain thickness.
As for the central brush, it adopts the traditional shape that combines bristles and silicone, in this case, offering a high density of bristles., which provides greater cleaning efficiency.
This robot, as usual in Xiaomi, It has only one side brush, since, thanks to its advanced navigation system, it always knows where it is going and which side it is sweeping with the brush.. This, together with its enormous power, allows it to effectively collect dirt.
For its part, the filtration system, which includes a high efficiency filter, traps dirt inside the robot, contributing to achieving a cleaner environment.
Autonomy is one of the points in which this "C" version has been reduced a little. Instead of the 5.200 mAh and 150 minutes that its older sisters reach, this 1C version has a battery of only 2.400 mAh, which lasts about 90 minutes, allowing it to clean up to 100-120 square meters.
Yes, The Vacuum 1C has charging and continuation. When the battery drops below 15%, it returns to its base and, if it had not finished cleaning, when it reaches 80%, it resumes cleaning in the place where it left off.
The 1C is compatible with magnetic barriers, through which a restricted area can be established, which the robot will not access (the magnetic strip is not included).
As well allows you to create restricted areas through the app if the experimental features option is activated in this.
This is very useful so that the robot does not go to areas such as the room where a baby sleeps, the children's play area, or so that it does not climb on a carpet when scrubbing.
Additionally, activating experimental features allows you to access options such as room cleaning, so demanded by high-end users.
Mopping, another strong point of the Vacuum 1C
Mopping is a functionality that, traditionally, Xiaomi had not placed much emphasis on. The models that included mopping (such as the best-selling Roborock S5, also known as Xiaomi Vacuum 2) were limited to passing a wet mop as they went, which achieved an acceptable result, but without great fanfare.
In 2019, both Xiaomi and the manufacturer of its robots, Roborock, have begun to offer models that go a little further in the scrubbing section.
La Roborock S6 It included disposable mops as a novelty, in addition to the possibility of changing the water flow manually, through a tab, being able to set it as high or low.
For its part, The Roborock S5 Max, in addition to including room cleaning, also incorporated important improvements in the scrubbing system, with a much larger tank than its predecessor and an ultra-precise peristaltic pump, similar to hospital drippers, which allows you to establish the desired water flow depending on the type of soil and existing dirt.
The Vacuum 1C incorporates a water tank with greater capacity than previous models (200 milliliters, for about 100 for the Vacuum 2) and water pump technology for greater precision in dosing.
Thus, the result when scrubbing is better, it is more accomplished. It may not be the same as scrubbing by hand nor is it capable of removing stuck-on stains, but it is more than enough for everyday use.
Advantages of the Xiaomi Vacuum 1C
It's a Xiaomi
Xiaomi/Roborock robots have earned well-deserved fame for their robustness and good functioning. The Vacuum 1C maintains this line, but incorporating higher power and a new scrubbing system.
multifunction robot
The 1C includes a improved scrubbing system, so that it becomes a true multifunction robot. Sweep, vacuum, mop and scrub, saving you time and money.
Value for money
Xiaomi's "C" range insists even more on one of the house's trademark aspects: value for money. For a super reasonable price, you can get a complete, effective and multifunction robot vacuum cleaner..
Power
Their 2.500 Pascals of power make it one of the most powerful robot vacuum cleaners on the market, above its range brothers, achieving great results on all types of floors.
Advanced navigation
Its dynamic display system, its 15 sensors and its powerful processor allow for orderly and efficient navigation., managing to clean 100% of the home surface in less time.
scrubbing system
Its new scrubbing system provides several improvements, since It has a larger tank and a more precise water pump dosing system.
Drawbacks
The biggest drawback of this robot is its autonomy, which is not very long, although as we have mentioned, it is very fast cleaning and has charging and continuation., so if it doesn't finish cleaning, it returns to the base and once loaded, it continues where it left off, so there isn't much problem in that sense.
Why buy a Xiaomi Vacuum 1C
If you're looking for Robust and well-functioning device, which is part of one of the most prestigious families in the sector, with a good navigation system and one of the highest suction powers on the market, the new Xiaomi Vacuum 1C can be a great alternative.
If you are a fan of the Xiaomi universe and you love its technology; if you want a multifunction robot, which not only vacuums, but also scrubs, and does so effectively. And above all, if you want all that technology at an even more surprising price than usual, the Xiaomi Vacuum 1C may be what you are looking for.
Xiaomi Mi Vacuum 1C vs Xiaomi Mi Vacuum
This new robot offers some advantages over other models of the brand, such as its greater power or lower height., which allows you to get under furniture more easily.
Below we will see what it is better at and what it is at a disadvantage compared to other Xiaomi/Roborock robots.
In relation to the brand's first model, the Xiaomi Mi Vacuum, the price of both can be quite similar currently, depending on the offers, although normally the 1C will be somewhat cheaper (the difference at the time of writing these lines is around 30 euros).
In favor of the Mi Vacuum, its laser-based navigation technology, which after all is the most precise system that exists (although the work of the engineers with the Vacuum 1C has been very good), and greater autonomy, which in your case reaches up to 150 minutes.
In favor of the Mi Vacuum 1C, its greater power (2.500 Pascals versus 1.800) and its scrubbing capacity (something that the first version does not include), as well as its lower height.
Xiaomi Mi Vacuum 1C vs Xiaomi Vacuum 2 (Roborock S5)
El Xiaomi Vacuum 2 It is another of the brand's best sellers, which also includes scrubbing capacity.
As for the price, the advantage here is clear for the Vacuum 1C, because even with the offers that there may be, the difference does not go below 100 euros or even 150.
Power is also another point where the Vacuum 1C wins. (2.500 Pa versus 2.000).
As for scrubbing, although both can do it, The scrubbing capacity and tank size are greater in the Vacuum 1C.
In favor of the Vacuum 2, in addition to being a widely proven model, its laser navigation technology and its large battery, which like the Vacuum 1, reaches 150 minutes of autonomy.
Xiaomi Mi Vacuum 1C vs Roborock S5 Max
In the price, The advantage is very clear for 1C, since the Roborock S5 Max costs almost double.
Power is again another point in favor of the Vacuum 1C, which offers 2.500 Pascals compared to 2.000 for the S5 Max.
In the scrubbing section, victory would go to the S5 Max, which also has an advanced dosing system and also includes an even larger tank, 290 milliliters, compared to the 200 of the 1C.
And like the previous ones, Both the laser navigation system and the battery are points in favor of the S5 Max, which offers data identical to that of the Vacuum 1 and 2.

Xiaomi Mijia 1C vs competition
The Xiaomi Mijia 1C is a modern, complete model with a good navigation system, which will surely delight its users.
What other models can we find on the market with these requirements and at competitive prices? We can consider two models that have also recently hit the market, the Conga 1690 and Netbot LS23.
Xiaomi Vacuum 1C vs Dreame F9
The Dreame F9 It is a very similar model, also belonging to the Xiaomi ecosystem, although it was released on the market a few months later. The price level of both models is similar, and depends on the specific offers that exist at any given time.
Regarding navigation, both have a similar system, based on a gyroscope and with an optical sensor, so that they move quite efficiently and easily.
Regarding power, both are located at 2.500 Pascals, enough to achieve a great cleaning result.
The battery is another point in favor of the Dream F9, since it reaches 150 minutes, so it almost doubles that of its rival.
On the other hand, the scrubbing system of both is quite good, although The F9 has antimicrobial technology that traps up to 99,99% of bacteria, achieving superior cleaning.
Xiaomi Vacuum 1C vs Netbot LS23
The price of both robots is similar, so it will depend on the offers we take at any given time.
In terms of power, the victory goes to the Xiaomi Vacuum 1C, which reaches 2.500 Pascals compared to 2.300 for the Ikohs robot; In any case, not a big difference, so they both do an excellent job.
Regarding the scrubbing system, both have water dosing at various levels, although the Netbot repository is broader.
The LS23's navigation system is laser, so we consider that it may be somewhat higher.
Regarding the battery, that of the LS23 is not too large either, but it is somewhat larger (3.200 mAh compared to 2.400 for the Vacuum 1C), so it has a little more autonomy, reaching 120 minutes.

Between this model (STYTJ01ZHM) and the roomba 960, which one do you recommend? I want it for my 1-story apartment where I have a cat that sheds a lot of hair and a cowhide rug. I see the scrubbing part as a plus that I like, but my biggest intention is for the cat hair part. and the dust that also collects a lot, I don't have Alexa or Google Home so that feature is not necessary for me, I have a budget for the Roomba but this Xiaomi model can give me an equal or even better function and at the same time save money some tickets so what better, I look forward to your comments and thank you in advance, your articles and analysis are very good! greetings from Mexico
Hello, Abdón, thank you for visiting our website and for your comments, and greetings to Mexico!
If it is a home with animals and a lot of hair, perhaps the Roomba 960 is superior due to its AeroForce brush, which prevents tangles. In this regard, there are other interesting models that we have also analyzed here (I don't know if you have access to them in your country), such as the Conga 4690, Rowenta Explorer Series 75 Total Care or Yeedi K650.

Hello, they just gave me my robot vacuum-mop, and I would like to know if it is the 1c to buy spare parts, because as a mop they do not appear. Thank you
Hello Mary, thank you for coming to our website.
Sometimes it is complicated with the names they give them... Look at the model number, if it is the STYTJ01ZHM (which we have searched for on Amazon as vacuum-mop, it says that, so yes it would be the Vacuum 1C).

Hello,
I bought the robot and installed the Mi Home app, but I can't find where the virtual barriers are inserted. Can you help me?
Hello. I just purchased this product... and comment that you have to scroll up and go to the MAP MANAGEMENT option, under SCHEDULED CLEANING. The map does this after doing 1 or 2 full cleans. Then inside it lets you put a virtual wall and/or restricted areas. You also have to put the Experimental Features option in settings.
Hello, Ana Pilar, thank you for your contribution.
