Roborock S7, our opinion after 2 months of use (+video)

Integrated

The robot maintains the usual design line of Roborock/Xiaomi robots. It can be obtained in the usual colors: white - like the unit we have tested - or black; both with a robust design with clean lines, modern and elegant. Its glossy polycarbonate construction gives it a premium very pleasant to look at.

In line with other robots of the brand, the Roborock S7 includes two tanks; the dirt one, which goes inside the device - by lifting the lid - and the liquid one, which we can see on the outside (and since it is transparent, we can easily check the amount of water left).

Thus, The Roborock S7 can vacuum and mop at the same time (the new scrubbing system is one of its most outstanding aspects), with a good capacity in both aspects, 470 milliliters for dust and 300 milliliters for water (one of the largest tanks in the category).

Manageability

The Roborock S7 It is a very easy robot to handle and with a wide variety of configuration options; Yes, it does not include a remote control, you will have to do it using voice commands - compatible with Alexa and Google Home - or preferably (in our opinion) through the app, which allows you to control it easily and clean exactly as you want in one go. practical and simple way.

We can control the robot through the usual Xiaomi universe application, Mi Home, or through the brand's own app, Roborock; We think that the best alternative is to use the Roborock application, since Xiaomi's is more generalist, while that of the brand itself includes all the specific improvements for its robots.

Management of the app

Using the app is very simple and intuitive, and provides a wide variety of configuration options, although on a day-to-day basis we will usually use a few parameters (you can see the operation of the app in the video starting at minute 4:16).

Upon entering, it shows us a list of connected devices, and in this case we choose the Roborock S7. If we have already created a map, it will appear on the main screen, along with the most relevant information, such as battery level or cleaning hours.

From the main screen we can now carry out the usual cleaning actions:

In practice, since we will have already defined the cleaning options previously, Putting the Roborock S7 to work is instant: We enter, we choose if we want the entire house or a specific room or rooms, and we start cleaning.

App settings

As we explained previously, The Roborock app is one of the most complete on the market, allowing us to view a wide variety of information and make various adjustments to customize the robot completely to our liking.

In the robot configuration, you can disable button lights, lock buttons on top of the robot (if we have small children or pets that could activate them accidentally) or set a do not disturb period (DND) in which the robot will not clean, the voice messages it may emit will be in a lower tone and the power indicator will dim.

In the rug configuration There are several interesting options, such as activating Turbo mode on carpets, so that the robot automatically increases the suction power when it is placed on one.

If we want to delete a schedule, we simply have to enter Programs and slide the one we want to delete to the left, so that a trash can icon will appear, which we must press.

From the settings, we can also select other options, such as one spot cleaning, remote control To drive the Roborock S7 as if it were a remote-controlled car, see the cleaning history or maintenance, enter Customer Support if we have a problem (to send the robot logs directly to the brand so they can analyze them), or consult the robot manual, which in this way we always have at hand.

Roborock S7 operation

How does the Roborock S7 perform when cleaning? After more than two months of testing it, we can say without a doubt that It is one of the best robot vacuum cleaners on the market, doing a great job in both of its facets., both vacuuming and scrubbing.

Its advanced LIDAR navigation system allows you navigate fluidly, quickly and orderly, hardly touching anything, since the laser has a range of several meters, which provides predictive navigation, anticipating obstacles before even approaching them.

The Roborock S7 navigate efficiently, first running along the edges and then “filling” the interior, moving in large straight lines; In large rooms you can divide them into quadrants for greater efficiency.

Thanks to its multiple sensors, It has great precision so it is capable of slipping through gaps where there is hardly any space., making it effective and efficient.

Cleaning is quite silent, It is one of the quietest devices on the market, so it is compatible with carrying out other tasks without being annoying.

The cleaning result is superior, it is clearly perceived that the robot has done its job, both on hard floors and carpets (where, as we have seen, it has an automatic turbo mode to increase power when placed on one).

Climb the mats and overcome other obstacles without problems (up to two centimeters), thanks to its wheels and a good suspension system.

Their new generation brushes, both the side and the central roller, do a magnificent job of collecting dirt.

The central roller is made of rubber and its sides are easily removable for easy cleaning. and free it from any hair that may have become tangled.

Scrub

In the tests carried out, the Roborock S7 has been around a speed of 1 m2 per minute or even slightly more, a great speed of movement that allows you to finish your work in less time than other robots and cover large rooms with one load.
