However, thanks to its laser-based navigation system and its advanced software, it will cover 100% of the surface of the home, so no corner will be left uncleaned. On the other hand, if you want to clean a specific area more thoroughly, in addition to the turbo power level, you can use the X2 mode, which will make several passes in that area, for a deeper cleaning.

MAPPING

Do you save the map or recreate it every time you clean?

Some robots create a map of the home each time they start a cleaning cycle, which does not allow you to interact with the map or access various advanced features.

In the case of the Conga 3690, saves the map and not only that, but it allows you to save up to 5. This way, you will have a multitude of functions at your disposal, even if your home has several floors or you want to use the robot to clean different houses.

Map created by Conga 3690

Do I have to activate something for it to map? What is the best way to do the first mapping?

La Conga 3690 will carry out the mapping the first time or times that it circulates through the house, and will save it. When you are creating the map for the first time, it is advisable to put it in automatic mode, so that it goes through the entire house, and in Eco power level, so that it has maximum autonomy.

Once the first map is finished, it will give us the option to save it, assigning it a name (since we can have 5 maps), and we will see what the room assignment has been that the robot has made, which we can modify to our liking.

I do not have WIFI. Can you work without it?

Yes, The robot can work the same even if there is no Wi-Fi, can be put into operation using the button at the top and will move around the home efficiently and effectively.

How can you prevent it from climbing on a carpet when you are scrubbing?

By using the restricted areas on the app's map, You can set it not to go to the area where the carpet is.

Can it be programmed to scrub?

Yes, it can be programmed to scrub. The robot has electronic water dosing, so it will only release water while it is scrubbing. When creating the schedule, you can define the desired water flow (low-medium-high). The Conga 3690 detects if the mixed tank is on, if it is not, it will appear as "disabled".

Can the robot be charged with the water tank on?

It could be, since it has electronic water dosing, although, as far as possible, it is preferable not to do so.

Can the water tank be refilled when it is placed on the robot?

No, It is advisable to fill the tank before putting it in the robot, since we could accidentally get it wet and cause a problem.

Does the tank have to be emptied when you have finished scrubbing?

Yes, it is advisable to do so.

Can scrubbing be combined with any other function?

Yes, scrubbing is compatible with the use of area cleaning and restricted area cleaning, as well as room cleaning. You can define the power level and the desired water flow level.

Can any cleaning product be used mixed with water to scrub?

Yes, You can use a non-corrosive, non-foam floor cleaner., in an approximate proportion of one part for every 10 of water.

How many square meters does it scrub? What happens when you run out of water?

The water tank of the Conga 3690 is quite spacious, and its electronic dosing is very precise, so it can clean large surfaces with one tank. This also depends, logically, on the water flow that has been selected. In any case, as an approximation, it may be enough to scrub 40-50 square meters without problems. When it runs out of water, it would continue mopping.

Can you scrub puddles or accumulated water?

It is not recommended, the robot uses the water it has in the tank to mop, it is not used as a mop to collect water.

Can you overcome obstacles with the scrubbing tank? What about carpets?

La Conga 3690 can overcome heights of up to 20 millimeters, and 10 millimeters when it has the water tank on. When scrubbing, it would be advisable to set the rugs as restricted areas, so that people do not climb on them, or simply remove them.

Can you mop wooden floors?

There should be no problem with both varnished wooden floors and synthetic flooring, which usually have some resistance to humidity, and can even be water-repellent (this can be checked in the manufacturer's or distributor's specifications). If the wood is not varnished, it is not advisable.

For wooden floors, it may be preferable to set the water flow to a minimum, or to a medium level at most, so as not to over-wet them.

In any case, This is a general conclusion, it depends on the porosity of the soil, whether it is well sealed or not..

Is it capable of cleaning stains on the floor?

The scrubbing system Conga 3690 is one of the most advanced on the market. Its Scrubbing technology performs a back-and-forth movement, and its two-material mop effectively captures dirt. Thanks to this, the robot is capable of cleaning some stains. However, although its capacity in this regard is superior to that of other robots, if the stain is very attached, it may not be able to do so.

Scrubbing scrubbing technology

Can the mop be washed in the washing machine?

Yes, you can wash the mop in the washing machine, at a maximum temperature of 30º.

What type of water should be used for scrubbing?

In principle, tap water is used, at room temperature.. In homes where the water has a lot of lime, it may be advisable to use filtered water, to avoid accumulations.

A small amount of non-corrosive floor cleaner can be added to the water, in a proportion of 10 milliliters per 100 of water.

MANAGEMENT OF THE ROBOT, APP AND WIFI CONNECTION

Where can the robot be controlled from? What is necessary to connect and manage it remotely?

The robot is connected to the Internet through the Wi-Fi at home. From there, you can manage the Conga through the app from anywhere and at any time, wherever you are, whether you have a Wi-Fi or data connection: from your work, a cafeteria, from the street...

Manage it from wherever you want

Manage it from wherever you want

If I turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on, do I have to configure the robot connection again?

No, when the router restarts, the robot will connect to it again.

Is Wifi essential to operate the robot? Can I control the robot in another way?

There are people who do not have Wi-Fi at home, but they can also enjoy many of the advantages that this robot offers them. The Conga 3690 can also be operated using the buttons on the top and the remote control.

However, and although it is not essential, it is also true that some of the advanced functions it offers, such as room cleaning, zone cleaning, restricted areas and some others, are only accessible through the app.

I am not able to connect the app with the robot.

This robot, unlike most of those on the market, is compatible with 5 GHz networks, in addition to 2,4 GHz networks, so some of the connection problems caused by robots today are avoided. .

If you are not able to configure it using automatic configuration, you can always do it manually. In the video you can see how simple it is.

When I enter the app, the robot appears as Disconnected or Offline. What I can do?

Sometimes, robots manageable by app lose the connection to the Wi-Fi, due to micro coverage outages or any other cause.

A solution you can try is to go to profile-robots, log out at the top left, and log in again. Many times, simply with that you reconnect.

Another solution that may work is to go to profile-robots, and enter the robot as if you were going to configure something. Only with that, you can reconnect.

Is the app updateable?

Yes, periodically the robot can receive firmware updates, which it will install automatically.

What are app updates for? Is it always necessary to update?

App updates serve to incorporate improvements or correct improvable aspects that may exist., based on the feedback received from users.

Among other aspects, they can improve issues such as battery management, so that it has greater autonomy, intelligence and navigation parameters, so that it is more efficient in its movements, connectivity problems and compatibility with Wi-Fi devices, etc., or include new functions that were not initially there (as an example, in the Conga 3090 the possibility of managing it by voice commands was added).

More than necessary or essential, updating is highly recommended.

Can it be controlled by voice commands?

Yes, la Conga 3690 is manageable through voice commands, being compatible with Alexa and Google Home.

Manageable by voice commands

It doesn't appear on Google Home. How can I find it?

Press the center button on your mobile for a few seconds, or search for Google Assistant in your applications. Once the Google Assistant is open, click the button at the bottom right of the compass, which will open an assistant. There, we search Conga. We click on «Robot Conga», we click on «link», and we enter our Cecotec account, and it is linked.

CHARGE AND AUTONOMY

How much space do I have to leave for the charging base?

The brand recommends 1 meter on each side and 2 meters forward. However, in the tests carried out, the robot has demonstrated great precision in its movements, getting into places where it barely fits, so it is not essential that there be so much space.

Where should the charging base be located?

Ideally, as far as possible, it should be in a place as central to the house as possible, so that you can detect the base well wherever it is. However, in various tests we have placed it at one end of the house and it has never had problems returning.

Does it always return to base? If it doesn't, what could be the reason?

In the use we have made of it, it has never had problems returning. If it does not, it could be due to an error in some of its sensors, that it has gotten stuck with something or that, for some reason, it does not detect the charging base correctly.

It could also be that we have moved the robot by carrying it in our hands, and that this has disoriented it regarding its location (it is better to transport it by ordering it to go to the area/room that we want to clean, or guide it using manual mode).

Conga 3690 returning to charging base

How long does it take to charge? How do I know it is charging?

The charging time is 3-4 hours, although the first time it is advisable to leave it charging for about 12 hours. While charging, the robot's light flashes yellow-orange, while when it is already charged, it remains solid blue. You can also see if it is charging or if the battery is full through the app. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the Conga 3690 will go into suspension.

When the robot is in the charging base, does the light always stay on?

Yes, it is always on, it does not turn off.

Does it always have to be on the charging base when not cleaning? Can't it break down or consume a lot of electricity?

Like other manufacturers, Cecotec recommends that the robot be on its charging base when not working. The only exception would be if it is not going to be used for a long period of time (for example, a month).

If the robot is not in the base or it is not plugged in, it will discharge little by little. In any case, it is recommended to charge the battery at least once a month.

Regarding electricity consumption, both this and other robot vacuum cleaners have very low consumption, so the cost is minimal.

What is the autonomy of the robot?

The estimated autonomy reaches 150 minutes. Esto It depends on the power used, the carpets you have (since it will use maximum power in them) and the obstacles that may exist. In any case, the Conga 3690 includes Total Surface 2.0 technology, so if it doesn't finish cleaning your entire home, it will go to recharge and then pick up where it left off.

PROGRAMMING

How is it programmed?

It can be programmed through the remote control and through the app, entering the corresponding option. The application allows you to predefine up to 50 cleaning plans, so that if we use the app, we can personalize each cleaning with a high level of detail.

When programming, can I choose modes or other options?

Yes, the Conga 3690 allows you to configure modes and other options when programming.

What are cleaning plans?

Its RoomPlan technology allows you to define up to 50 cleaning plans, which are cleaning configurations that can be defined by room, up to a fairly high level of detail.. In the cleaning plans, we can also choose issues such as the cleaning mode and power.

Room cleaning

For example, we may tell you to clean the kitchen and bathroom on Tuesdays and Fridays at 12:30; the rooms, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 16:40 p.m.; the kitchen, every day at 9:30; and the room, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 18:30 p.m.; and on Sundays at 17:00 p.m., scrub the kitchen with a medium flow of water.

MAINTENANCE

How often do you have to change the brushes and filters?

The app includes estimated useful life times for brushes and filters. By entering profile-robots-lifespan, we can see how much each element has left for the recommended change. In the case of the central brush, about 320 hours of life are estimated, 220 for the side brush and about 160 hours for the filter, which is enough for many months, with normal use of the robot.

What maintenance needs to be done on the robot?

At each cleaning or, at least, when the tank is emptied (which will normally last several cleaning cycles, because it is quite large), The central brush and side brush must be cleaned of hair, threads and other elements that may have become tangled.. It is very important for its conservation and the proper functioning of the robot, since if not, the brushes may not rotate correctly or twist their hairs, leaving them in poor operating condition.

Both brushes can (and should) be removed from the robot, for easier and more complete cleaning.

Conga 3690 Absolute view below

Conga 3690 Absolute view below

When emptying the tank, it is advisable to take the opportunity to clean the HEPA filter with the brush, so that its cleanliness and thus its proper functioning are guaranteed.

On the other hand, also Drop sensors should be cleaned periodically (especially if we have a home with stairs or holes through which you can fall) and shock, to ensure proper functioning of the robot, with a clean, dry cloth.

Likewise, the wheels must also be cleaned of any possible dirt that may remain adhered.

Can the high efficiency filter get wet?

The filter could be washed, although in the instructions of the Conga 3690, indicates that this should not be done, to guarantee its effectiveness and a longer useful life.

What are the differences between the Conga 3690, the Conga 3490, the Conga 3290 and the Conga 3090?

These 4 robots They belong to the advanced 3000 series of Conga. Therefore, they share several characteristics, such as their advanced laser navigation system, automatic turbo activation When they detect that they are on a carpet, the control via voice commands or loading and continuation system, by which the robot, if it has not finished its work, is able to go to load and resume where it left off.

La Conga 3090 is the pioneer of this saga and was presented in 2018, while the other two models belong to the 2019 range, so both the 3690, like the Conga 3490 and Conga 3290 They include some improvements, such as cleaning by room, 50 cleaning plans, the possibility of saving several maps, an electronic water dosing system, or a special brush for homes with pets (in the case of the 3290 it is optional), as well as even higher suction power.

  1. Hello I have the conga 3690 and every day at 19 p.m. she starts working alone. How can I solve this problem….
    Thank you very much

  2. Good afternoon,
First of all, thank you for this FAQ'S website, since it is very useful to see other people's incidents to detect things that you may be doing wrong.
Having said this, I tell you that I have been with the Conga 3690, our particular C3PO, and now I can't live without it. He's doing weird things. I have read that when it is in the charging base it should be on, and lately, when I go to use it, it is off. I press the power button, it turns blue, then it appears to charge, makes a sound (double beep-beep), turns red and turns off. It has also happened to someone in the chat and you have recommended that they hold down the main button for a few seconds (I already did it) and then place it on the charging base (I already did it).
What did work for me one day was to skip it, unplug it completely and the next day plug it in and charge it again. But today not even that.
Could it be that the battery is failing? What is your opinion?

    • Hello Isabel, thank you for visiting us.

It could be a problem with the battery; To discard, try cleaning the terminals (the little metal plates through which it charges) well with a soft cloth, both on the robot and on the base. Another test you can do is move the base to another location in case there is a problem with the plug or even with the balance of the ground where it is now. If you change the site base, you will have to map again, starting the cleanup from the new location.

  3. Hello, Cristina, thank you for coming to our website.

In principle, the scratch on the upper part does not have to affect the operation of the laser, for us with the Conga It hasn't happened to us, although it has with other robots, and being quite scratched on the top, they continue to work correctly. This can happen because the robot calculates that it will fit but it adjusts too much and is actually too tight, it often happens when the element is placed on the edge of a rug, so the robot is at that point a little unbalanced (you can check the areas close to carpets). Another "dangerous" area can be the bottom of the radiators, if you have them hanging on the wall, since due to their shape they can be difficult for the robot to calibrate.

I have the Conga 3790, and I have already had the mapping done for two months. I have completely changed the furniture in the living room. If I start it, will it still be able to recognize the space or would I have to map again?

    Thank you,

In principle, the robot can adapt to some changes without problems, although depending on their importance, if it perceives the space as different, it will interpret it as a different map.

Try removing the batteries from the controller and press the center button. Then put them back on. Thus, in principle you will delete the configurations that it may have.

  6. Hello,

We have one conga 3590. In the first cleaning with mapping we estimate that the battery has lasted 40 minutes maximum (the mapping did not finish). It is normal? Our floor is stoneware and has a small stone hallway.

    • Hello, Antonia, thank you for coming to our website.

In principle, the 3590 battery lasts up to 150 minutes in optimal conditions (i.e. Eco power level, no obstacles, more or less open rooms...); If the ground is rougher, less smooth, logically it also consumes more battery; However, 40 minutes seems little; Anyway, also note that if it finishes, it returns to base as if it were on low battery, but it is not. Did it tell you in the app that it had no battery?

Thank you very much for the quick answer. Even if I press +, the option to schedule the cleaning does not appear since the hours do not appear (which I have seen in different explanatory videos). What can I do? I'm a little disoriented with this, since I don't know how to solve it.

I would appreciate it if you could help me.

That's right, before the application was that, but now there is the entire unified Series 3000 in which it is called Conga 3000, which works for models 3290, 3390, 3490, 3590, 3690 and 3790.

  10. I use the 3690 with a remote control. If I program ECO cleaning, my floor cleaning lasts just 1 hour and goes “home” with the orange charging light flashing. If I program medium power it spends more than two hours cleaning and returns to the charging station. For what is this? Is this procedure normal?
Where could I get more information on operating the machine with the remote control? I don't have internet and the information that accompanies the machine, which is new, is scarce.
    Thank you.

    • Hello Nuncha, thank you for visiting our website.

When the robot finishes cleaning what it has in the cleaning plan (or if it is a complete cleaning, the entire house), it returns to the base with the lights flashing orange, not because it has no battery, but because it has finished, perhaps that's what happens in your case (in activity, you can see what it has cleaned). It seems a little more strange to us that there is such a time difference between eco power and average power.

As for the control, the buttons above are: the one on the right to set the time, and the one on the left to program the robot.
In the middle, the central button to start the robot, and the arrows, to move it in manual mode, and to change the hours when it is being set or programmed. The buttons below are: The one on the left, to change the power level, the one in the middle, to send the robot to the base and the one on the right, to start the edge mode.

Yes, you will have a new IP, new connection data, etc., you will have to configure it again. Click on new robot and configure it like the first time, following the instructions that the app gives you. Give the robot the same name you had.

    • Hello, Manuel, thank you for visiting our website.

We don't know if we understood your question correctly, but if what you want is to mop the entire house, you will have to put in the mixed tank, which is the one that carries the mop; If you don't want it to suck, set the power level to off, and if you want it to suck at the same time, choose one of the other three (eco, normal or turbo).

    • Hello again, Mar.

The rubber brush is very good for avoiding tangles, if there are many long hairs or pets in your house, you will see that with it they are largely avoided and are easier to unclog; the other is multifunction, and perhaps more suitable if you have carpets, especially if they are thick or long pile.

Try holding down the main button on the top of the robot for a few seconds to restart it. Then, place it on the charging base, checking that the robot's terminals (the metal plates through which it charges) are placed on those of the base.

  16. Hello, Miguel A., thank you for visiting our website.

If you want, you can change the location of the base, and start cleaning from its new location. But since the robot "fixes" it on the map, it may interpret it as a new map; In that case, it would generate a new map for you; When you finish, you save it, and then you can delete the first one you had if you wish, dragging it to the left and clicking delete.

  18. Hello, Victor, thank you for visiting our website.

In our case, we have not had problems connecting it to 5G, although we understand that there may be cases in which, as has happened to you, there may be more problems. In our opinion, it is not the fault of the Conga, rather they are network configuration issues when having a dual router, you can take a look at this tutorial in relation to this topic.

The app, of course, can be installed on several phones, what you cannot do is control the robot at the same time from two phones (of course, on the other hand). Therefore, when you log in to one, you log out of the other.

It also says that the app can be installed on several phones (false).
When trying to connect the second mobile phone to the device, the first one loses the line.

You can try several things. First, enter profile-robots, profile-robots, and press the arrow to the right to enter the robot as if you were going to configure something. Just with that, he usually reconnects. You can also try logging out at the top left, and logging back in. Many times, simply with that you reconnect.
Additionally, if that doesn't work for you, you can put the robot near the Wi-Fi and press its central button for several seconds to turn it off and turn it on again.

      • Good morning, thank you very much for all the FAQ. They are very useful. Every day it appears after cleaning offline when it returns to its base. By clicking on it in profile, you cannot find the Wi-Fi. Nor when logging out and logging back in.
I have it located in the room at the back of the apartment (it is about 100m2). The Wi-Fi is 300 MB (fiber optic) and the phone tells me it arrives without a problem.
The only way I have found at the moment is to hit the plus button on Robots and reconfigure the network. But having to do it every day is very tedious. And I wanted to leave it programmed so I can't do it. Not outside the home either.

        • Hello, Mar, thank you for your words.

Normally, one of these actions is usually enough for it to reconnect. From what you indicate, the phone has Wi-Fi without problems, but the robot loses it; This sometimes happens, because let's say, to understand ourselves, that the phone's Wi-Fi is more powerful than that of the robot (since it is a device that is used to communicate) and captures the signal better.

An alternative would be to try placing the robot in a place closer to the router, where it has a better signal, or try to improve the router's coverage by changing its location (sometimes, it is simply because it is too "locked" in a place), or installing some repetition/amplification system.

  22. Hello, Gema, thank you for coming to our website.

We tell you how to program to clean a room step by step, in case it can help you.

Once you have the map with the rooms, and each one with its name, you can define cleaning plans, in which you tell which rooms you want to clean.

For example, if you want to schedule cleaning your living room, you would create a cleaning plan, called, for example, “living room.” Then, you go to programming, and in the corresponding section, you choose that "room" cleaning plan, and you define the rest of the parameters (cleaning mode, power...) and the days and times at which you want it to do it. Finally, you click save.

  26. Hello, Francisco Javier, thank you for coming to our website.

We don't know exactly what you mean. When you map the first time, the robot will ask you at the end if you want to save the map, you give it a name and edit the divisions, and that's it, the map is saved.

If you don't have any maps yet, simply set it to clean automatically, starting from the charging base, and when it's done, it will ask you to save the map.

If you have a map, but it is not complete, and you want to do it again, you can delete the one you have (go to maps, drag it to the left, and you will see edit and delete), and then create a new one, just as we have explained.

If what you want is to create a new map (for example, of another home, or another floor), simply put it to clean in it, and when it finishes, it will ask you if you want to save it, with which you will already have the two maps.

In principle, it should not affect you, although we do not know to what extent it is being scratched... Perhaps to prevent it, it is best that you establish a restricted area in that area, to prevent the robot from continuing to "fight" with that table.

I understand that it should not have happened and that if the laser turret does not detect the height of a piece of furniture it is due to a manufacturing defect. At the moment it does not influence the operation but until it detects the (theoretically harmless) piece of furniture there have been others More scratches and it makes it very dull.
Now how do I solve it?
