GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CONGA 3490

La Conga 3490 is 4 in 1. Can it do all 4 functions at the same time?

In some robots, the mopping and vacuuming functions are incompatible, either because the mop covers the central hole, or simply because they cannot be activated at the same time. Brianda CongaYes, they can perform their 4 functions at the same time. (sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing and mopping). The Conga 3490 has a mixed tank, which contains water in one part, while the other can store solid waste.

Is it suitable for all types of floors?

Yes, the Conga 3490 Works well on all types of soils.  Thanks to its excellent mapping, its high suction power and its two brushes, it will do a great job on both porcelain and wooden floors, synthetic floors, as well as carpets and rugs; logically, always indoors.

I have a very large home. Will you be able to clean it completely?

The robot has up to 150 minutes of autonomy, enough to clean medium-sized homes. If this were not enough, it has Total Surface 2.0 technology, so It is able to go to charge when it detects that the battery is low and then continue cleaning where it left off.

How do you clean the carpets?

La Conga 3490 includes Turbo Clean Carpet technology, so automatically activates the turbo when it detects that it is on a carpet. In addition, it is capable of climbing carpets up to 2 centimeters thick, which other robots have problems with, or are simply incapable of. On the other hand, its multifunction brush very effectively captures dirt embedded in carpets, and Your new BestFriend Care rubber brush does a great job while preventing tangles.

Do you clean under furniture?

Some robots have problems cleaning under furniture, but that is not the case with this robot. The Conga 3490 will also clean in these areas, as long as the height is sufficient (due to the laser turret, it reaches 9,6 centimeters in height).

Is the HEPA Filter washable?

As a novelty, the filter Conga 3490 is washable. For maintenance, you must first clean the dust with the brush, and then you can wash it with warm water, without detergent, and let it air dry completely before putting it on. However, for longer filter life, it is best to dry clean it.

Depending on what the robot is used for, the guidance provided by the manufacturer is that the side brush and HEPA filter should be changed every 3 months, although In practice, the deadlines are usually much longer.

Is it valid for homes with animals?

Yes, Thanks to its great suction power and its new BestFriend rubber brush, it collects hair very effectively, largely avoiding blockages and tangles.. In addition, its HEPA filter prevents dirt from escaping outside, and since it is quite silent (less than 64 decibels), it does not bother animals or people.

Does it automatically detect dirt?

No, it does not, although thanks to its advanced navigation system, it will cover 100% of the home. Besides, If a more thorough cleaning is desired, in addition to the turbo power level, you can also activate the X2 mode, which will make several passes through each site.

MAPPING

Do you save the mapping or do it again every cleaning cycle?

La Conga 3490 saves the mapping and, in addition, It is capable of saving up to 5 maps, so that you can use it with all its functionalities and maximum comfort even if your house has several floors or if you want to clean several homes.

Do I have to do anything special for it to map? What is the best way to do a mapping?

The robot will carry out the mapping the first time or times it circulates around the house, and will save it. When you are creating the map for the first time, it is advisable to put it in automatic mode, so that it goes through the entire house, and in Eco power level, so that it has maximum autonomy.

In one of the homes I don't have Wi-Fi, can I still use the robot?

Yes, The robot can work the same even if there is no Wi-Fi, can be put into operation using the button at the top and will move around the home efficiently and effectively. The only thing is that you will not be able to access the advanced functions that the application provides you.

Can I establish cleaning zones and restricted areas, which the robot will not access?

Yes, they are two of the functionalities that can be accessed from the application, once the robot has mapped the house and saved the map. In addition to area cleaning, in which you can mark a rectangle in the app, which will be the area that the robot will clean, the robot now also includes intelligent area cleaning, which is what is normally known as room cleaning.

Do you clean rooms?

Yes, la Conga 3490 recognizes the plan of the house intelligently, so it defines the rooms on the map (which can be edited, merging or dividing them as we wish). Once created in this way, we can mark the room or rooms that we want it to clean, or also schedule it by room.

Can the rooms defined by the robot be changed?

Yes, the robot will establish some rooms according to the mapping it has made, but They can be modified by merging, splitting and renaming them..

To merge rooms, once the robot has finished mapping, the map is saved with a name (since it allows up to 5 maps to be saved), and in the next step, you can edit the rooms that the robot has defined, by pressing the “Edit rooms” button. Two options will appear, merge (to join rooms) or split. Once the rooms to be merged have been marked, you will put them in the same color; You just have to apply it and that's it.

Once the fusion and/or division of the rooms is completed, having already divided the house as you see fit, you go to the next screen, where you can change the names of the rooms.

Room cleaning

Can a room be added to an already saved map?

No, The solution for this would be to have the robot clean the house again, including that new room that had not been mapped before.. When it finds that new room, it will interpret it as a new map, and will ask if you want to save that new map. Then, once this new complete map has been edited and saved, you can delete the previous one, and that's it (to delete it, you have to go to Maps and drag the one you want to delete to the left). Then the cleaning plans would have to be recreated on the new map.

Are there features that require an already saved map?

Yes, Functions, such as smart area cleaning or restricted zones, require the map to be already saved, so we can define those areas.

I have a house with 2 floors. What should I consider?

La CongaAs usual, it has anti-fall sensors, so you avoid falling down the stairs.

In addition, has up to 5 maps, so there is no problem in that sense; You can have a map of each of the floors, and order the robot or configure the cleaning as desired in each of them, independently.

Conga 3490 Elite various maps

Is there any element that could affect the navigation of the Conga 3490?

Although the Conga 3490 has a very advanced navigation system, It doesn't hurt, as with any other robot, to make your task easier., clearing the area to be cleaned as much as possible from possible obstacles.

In the case of curtains, it can detect them as a solid obstacle and not go under them, so it is recommended to move them away when the robot is working.

It doesn't seem to have problems with black carpets, as happens in some models from other brands. Yes, it can be affected, in some cases (as also happens to other robots with laser technology) in rooms where full sunlight hits it directly, or if there are mirrors, which can be interpreted as the room being prolonged. .

MOP AND SCRUB

Can the mop be used on any type of floor?

The use of the mop is interesting on hard floors, both porcelain and wooden, as it effectively traps dust. If, in addition, you use some type of specific product for mops, you will get shiny floors.

If it is used for scrubbing, access must be limited to those areas that we are not interested in cleaning, including the carpets, so that they do not get wet.

Detail of the mop

How can you prevent it from climbing on a carpet when you are scrubbing?

By using the restricted areas on the app's map, You can set it not to go to the area where the carpet is.

Can it be programmed to scrub?

Yes, it can be programmed to scrub.

Can the robot be charged with the water tank on?

It could be, since it has electronic water dosing, which can also be deactivated by setting the scrubbing parameters to OFF, but the brand advises against it.

Can the water tank be refilled when it is placed on the robot?

No, It is preferable to fill it when it is not in the robot, since we could accidentally get the robot wet, and cause a problem.

Does the tank have to be emptied when you have finished scrubbing?

Yes, it is advisable to do so.

Can scrubbing be combined with any other function?

Yes, scrubbing is compatible with the use of smart area cleaning and restricted area cleaning. You can define the power level and the desired water flow level.

Smart scrubbing

Can any cleaning product be used mixed with water to scrub?

Yes, You can use a non-corrosive, non-foam floor cleaner., in a proportion of one part for every 10 of water.

How many square meters does it scrub? What happens when you run out of water?

It depends on the level of the water flow that is put in, since it has 3 levels. In any case, Its electronic dosing allows you to cover quite large surfaces with a tank (it may be enough to scrub 40-50 square meters without problems). When it runs out of water, it would continue mopping.

Can you scrub puddles or accumulated water?

It is not recommended, the robot uses the water it has in the tank to mop, it is not used as a mop to collect water.

Can you overcome obstacles with the scrubbing tank? What about carpets?

La Conga 3490 can overcome heights of up to 20 millimeters, and 10 millimeters when it has the water tank on. When scrubbing, it would be advisable to remove the rugs, as they could climb on them and get them wet, or establish them as restricted areas.

Can you mop wooden floors?

There should be no problem with both varnished wooden floors and synthetic flooring, which usually have some resistance to humidity, and can even be water-repellent (this can be checked in the manufacturer's or distributor's specifications). If the wood is not varnished, it is not advisable.

In any case, This is a general conclusion, it depends on the porosity of the soil, it depends on whether it is well sealed or not.

Is it capable of cleaning stains on the floor?

Thanks to its new two-groove mop and Scrubbing mode, the Conga 3490 is capable of cleaning some stains. However, although its capacity in this regard is superior to that of other robots, if the stain is very attached, it may not be able to do so.

Conga 3490 Elite scrubbing mode scrubbing

Can the mop be washed in the washing machine?

Yes, you can wash the mop in the washing machine, at a maximum temperature of 30º.

What type of water should be used for scrubbing?

In principle, tap water is used, at room temperature.. In homes where the water has a lot of lime, it may be advisable to use filtered water, to avoid accumulations.

A small amount of non-corrosive floor cleaner can be added to the water, in a proportion of 10 milliliters per 100 of water.

CONGA 3490: ROBOT HANDLING, APP AND WIFI CONNECTION

Can the robot be controlled from anywhere or does it need to be connected to Wi-Fi?

Wifi is used so that the robot is accessible through the app, it is what the robot uses to connect to the Internet. From there, the mobile phone from which it is operated can have any type of connection to the Internet; wherever you are, whether you have a Wi-Fi or data connection, You can control the robot remotely, at any time and from anywhere: from your work, a cafeteria, from the street...

If I turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on, do I have to configure the robot connection again?

No, when the router restarts, the robot will connect to it again.

Is Wifi essential to operate the robot?

It is not essential, la Conga It can also be operated using the buttons on the top of the robot. However, it is through the application that you can get the most out of the 3490., because there are functions that are only accessible through the app.

Manage it from wherever you want and whenever you want

When I enter the app, the robot appears as Disconnected or Offline. What I can do?

Sometimes, robots manageable by app lose the connection to the Wi-Fi, due to micro coverage outages or any other cause.

A solution you can try is to go to profile-robots, log out at the top left, and log in again. Many times, simply with that you reconnect.

Another solution that may work is to go to profile-robots, and enter the robot as if you were going to configure something. Only with that, you can reconnect.

I am not able to connect the app with the robot.

The first thing to keep in mind is that it is not compatible with 5 GHz networks, you have to choose 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi. This has been designed this way because the latter has a greater range. Additionally, when configuring the connection, the robot should not be far from the router.

It is also possible that it is a matter of phone settings. If this is the problem, keep in mind that on Android, an option called “Activate Wifi automatically” or similar (depending on the version) will normally be activated, which automatically connects to quality Wifi networks, and can cause problems.

To turn it off, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Preferences and turn off “Turn Wi-Fi on automatically.” Return to the app, start the process again and when “Sending a message to the robot” appears, go to Settings > Network and Internet and connect to the network with a name similar to “Conga_***.” After returning to the app, in a few seconds you will see how it connects.

Another problem that some users of connectable robots encounter is due to smart routers, which connect you to the 2,4 GHz or 5 GHz network depending on the type of device. If this were your case, perhaps you would have to deactivate this smart Wifi so that it can detect it. Here you can see a tutorial about the topic.

Is the app updateable?

Yes, Notices automatically arrive when there is a new version of the firmware, informing that it is going to be updated.

What are app updates for? Is it always necessary to update?

App updates serve to incorporate improvements or correct improvable aspects that may exist., based on the feedback received from users. Among other aspects, they can improve issues such as battery management, so that it has greater autonomy, intelligence and navigation parameters, so that it is more efficient in its movements, connectivity problems, compatibility with Wi-Fi devices, etc., or include new functions that were not initially there. More than necessary or essential, updating is highly recommended.

Can it be controlled by voice commands?

Yes, The robot is controllable by voice commands, and is compatible with Alexa and Google Home.

It doesn't appear on Google Home. How can I find it?

Press the center button on your mobile for a few seconds, or search for Google Assistant in your applications. Once the Google Assistant is open, click the button at the bottom right of the compass, which will open an assistant. There, we search Conga. We click on «Robot Conga», we click on «link», and we enter our Cecotec account, and it is linked.

Once linked, you have to synchronize everything in Google (or wait a while for it to do it itself). The best thing is to tell Google “sync everything”, so that it is done now.

Once synchronized, with the command “contact robot Conga», we contact the robot, and different commands can be used, such as «start cleaning», «stop cleaning» or «go to charge» (you must first contact the first command, and then give it the corresponding order).

CHARGE AND AUTONOMY

How much space do I have to leave for the charging base?

The brand recommends 1 meter on each side and 2 meters forward, although it is not essential that there be so much space.

Where should the charging base be located?

The ideal, apart from leaving the space mentioned in the previous question, is for it to be in a place as central to the house as possible, so that you can easily detect the base wherever it is.

Does it always return to base? If it doesn't, what could be the reason?

In general, this robot will always return to the base by itself when it detects that its battery is low.. If it does not do so, it may be that there has been an error in one of its sensors (for example, the sun has hit it in front of it, a mirror has confused it, a wheel has gotten stuck) or that, for some reason, it does not detect the charging base well. It could also be that we have moved the robot by carrying it in our hands, and that this has disoriented it regarding its location.

How long does it take to charge? How do I know it is charging?

The charging time is 3-4 hours, although the first time it is advisable to leave it charging for about 12 hours. While charging, the robot's light flashes yellow-orange, while when it is already charged, it remains solid blue. You can also see if it is charging or if the battery is full through the application Conga 3490. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the Conga 3490 will go into suspension.

When the robot is in the charging base, does the light always stay on?

Yes, it is always on, it does not turn off.

Does it always have to be on the charging base when not cleaning? Can't it break down or consume a lot of electricity?

Yes, As a general rule, it is recommended that this be so. In any case, it is recommended that the battery be charged at least once a month. Regarding electricity consumption, both this and other robot vacuum cleaners have very low consumption, so the cost is minimal.

If the robot is not in the base or it is not plugged in, it will discharge little by little.

What is your autonomy?

The autonomy depends on the power used, the carpets you have (since it will use maximum power in them) and the obstacles that may exist. In Eco mode, it reaches up to 150 minutes. However, it has Total Surface 2.0 technology, so if it doesn't finish cleaning the entire home, it will recharge and then continue where it left off.

Total Surface 2.0 Technology

PROGRAMMING

How is it programmed?

Can be programmed through the app, entering the corresponding option. The application allows you to predefine up to 50 cleaning plans.

When programming, can I choose modes or other options?

Yes, the Conga 3490 allows you to configure modes and other options when programming.

Cleaning modes Conga 3490

Cleaning modes Conga 3490

What are cleaning plans?

Its RoomPlan technology allows you to define up to 50 cleaning plans, which are cleaning configurations that can be defined by room, up to a fairly high level of detail..

For example, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, clean the living room at 11:30 in auto mode and turbo power level; From Monday to Friday, clean the kitchen at nine in the morning in Eco mode; On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, clean the rooms at 16:00 p.m., and on Sundays at 17:00 p.m., scrub the kitchen with a medium flow of water.

MAINTENANCE

How often do you have to change the brushes and filters?

According to the manufacturer, the side brush should be changed every three months, and the HEPA filter also every three months. In our opinion, In both cases they can last much longer if they are cared for properly, as we explain in the next question.

What maintenance needs to be done on the robot?

At each cleaning or, at least, when the tank is emptied (which will normally last several cleaning cycles, because it is quite large), The central brush and side brush must be cleaned of hair, threads and other elements that may have become tangled.. It is very important for its conservation and the proper functioning of the robot, since if not, the brushes may not rotate correctly or twist their hairs, leaving them in poor operating condition.

Both brushes can (and should) be removed from the robot, for easier and more complete cleaning.

Multifunction brush Conga 3490

When emptying the tank, it is advisable to take the opportunity to clean the HEPA filter with the brush, so that its cleanliness and thus its proper functioning are guaranteed.

On the other hand, also Drop sensors should be cleaned periodically (especially if we have a home with stairs or holes through which you can fall) and shock, to ensure proper functioning of the robot, with a clean, dry cloth.

Likewise, the wheels must also be cleaned of any possible dirt that may remain adhered.

Can the HEPA filter get wet?

Yes, The filter can be washed with warm water. Previously, you must remove all the dirt that may have adhered to it with the cleaning tool., and then you have to let it dry completely.

What are the differences between the Conga 3490 and the Conga 3090?

Both robots share some features, such as advanced laser-based navigation, automatic activation of Turbo when they detect that they are on a carpet, or the charge and continue system, by which the robot, if it has not finished its work, is able to go to load and pick up where I left off.

However la Conga 3490 also has some improvements and incorporates various functions that the 3090 lacks, such as, for example, cleaning by room, 50 cleaning plans, the possibility of saving several maps, an improved scrubbing system, or a special brush for homes with pets.

  1. Hello,

From the app when selecting my conga It shows the battery charge status but on the left 3 vertical bars appear. I can't figure out what each one belongs to, the fact is that when I try to make it work it gives me an error and tells me that I have to recharge it...

    • Hello, Josep, thank you for visiting our website and happy new year!

We do not fall into the little lines that you tell us now, if they are those of the battery, if we remember correctly there are 4, so if it only marks 3 it is possible that it is not charging completely. However, check the version you have of the app and the robot's firmware to see if it is updated, and try holding the power button for a few seconds to restart the robot.

  2. Hello, I have a couple of questions…
One would be, if it can be programmed, so that it vacuums and when finished it scrubs, or it does it simultaneously.
And the second is, how do you search for the base. When carrying out the initial mapping of the house, do you memorize the room where the base is located and once there you search for it? What happens if I move the charging base?

    Reply
    • Hello, Luis, thank you for coming to our website.

Regarding the first, yes, it vacuums and scrubs simultaneously, so you don't need to do two different programs.

As for the second, we would say that it is a bit of a combination of both, it somehow locates the base on the map, although if you move it a little it can find it. If you change the room, for example, you would have to start (as always) the cleaning from the charging base and normally it should return to it without problem, although it is possible that it interprets that it is another house and creates another map for you (in that case , you could always delete the previous one, entering maps and sliding it to the left).

  3. Hello i have one conga 3490 elite. How do you resume cleaning where you left off if you load it again? Mine so far doesn't.
If you have had an incident with a cable, can I stop it and resume cleaning? Because for now start over by making a new map

    • Hello, Maria, thank you for visiting us.

For it to resume cleaning, it has to be running in Auto mode, we don't know if you were using it in this. When there is an incident with a clothing cable or similar, which causes it to get stuck, it is best to put the robot on pause, free it from the element in question, put it back in the same place and press the play or button on the screen again. top, the robot should return to the situation it was in.

  4. Good morning, I have the conga 3490 and it is now at least the fifteenth time that it has been disconnected from the home Wi-Fi, that is, it does not connect to the Wi-Fi and never appears online. I'm desperate because I can't use it with the app and if I put it on without being connected to the Wi-Fi, it doesn't clean all the rooms because it doesn't go into all of them. Between one time and another time it was deconfigured, it took at least three to four months to connect it to the Wi-Fi and I don't know how to do it. I've already tried a thousand ways, I even changed routers and it's impossible. This last time I haven't been able to use it for five months, please help

  6. Good morning,
I have had the 3490 for a year and a half and my problem is that it detects the charging base in another place in the room, and I have never moved it. From the moment you open the map to clean it you see that it is detected in the other corner and of course, because of that it does not clean other rooms because it thinks that the door is in a place where there is only a wall and it keeps wandering around. Do you have a solution or do I have to do a new mapping?
Thank you very much in advance.
    A greeting.

    • Hello, Sandra, thank you for visiting our website.

The best solution would be to make a new mapping. Both to make the map and to start cleaning, always from the charging base, so as not to disorient the robot; Another issue that could "dislodge" you is moving it by hand from one place to another in the middle of cleaning.

    • Hello Oliver, thank you for coming to our website.

You don't have to remove the tank to load it, the robot can carry it perfectly and the normal thing to do is to do it like this, with it on (otherwise it would be a bit tedious :-).

Possibly it refers to the fact that it is not done with the tank full of water, that is, if you have scrubbed with it you will have to empty the remaining water.

I have observed that when entering the robot profile, two robots appear, one corresponding to 3490 (which is mine) and another to 3290, with the latter appearing selected, it is also the one that appears online, if I select mine it does not appear online , I have observed this after coming from being repaired. I don't know if it has any importance, if it loses functionality... Well, as I said in another comment, it takes longer to do the cleaning and it doesn't even finish it. Thank you

Yes, the robot can work the same even if there is no Wi-Fi, it can be started using the button on the top and it will travel around the home efficiently and effectively. The only thing is that you will not be able to access the advanced functions that the application provides you.
IF YOU HAVE TWO IPHONES, FOR EXAMPLE, YOURS AND YOUR WIFE'S, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH THE APP EXACTLY THE SAME AS YOU WOULD DO UNDER A WIFI NETWORK. TO DO THIS YOU MUST PUT ONE OF THE MOBILES IN “INTERNET SHARING” MODE AND CONFIGURE THE CONGA WITH THE OTHER MOBILE. (I ASSUME IT ALSO WORKS WITH ANDROID). I HAVE DONE IT THIS WAY AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY.

Yes, indeed, we have not gone into those depths, but you can configure a mobile phone to share its Internet connection, that is, act as a router, and from there it can function as if it were another router.

      Thanks for the note.

When it disconnects, you can try to enter the configuration menu or another, normally with that it reconnects; It can also work by logging out and logging back in. If that doesn't work for you, you can try changing the site base; If you do, it is best to map again, starting the cleaning from the base, so that it recognizes that the base is now somewhere else.

    • Hello, Domingo, thank you for coming to our website.

Well, we couldn't say, it's strange, in the tests we have done there have never been those types of problems on the upper floor... perhaps the robot tries to map what it sees downstairs, but logically, due to the anti-fall sensors, it does not move forward... Try carefully cleaning the sensors with a soft cloth; You can also try deleting the map above (going to maps, dragging it to the left and clicking delete) and creating it again.

  12. Hello, Estefanía, thank you for visiting our website.

In principle, you don't have to do anything, the robot recognizes that the house plan is different from the one it already has saved and begins to create a new one.

Try starting the cleaning on the second floor from another location; You can try starting from the charging base (that is, taking the base to that other floor, and starting the cleaning from there), or without the base.

    • Hello, Mari Carmen, thank you for visiting us.

In principle, it should not be a size problem, although in some cases it could happen that the area where the base is placed is not perceived adequately by the robot. This is not usual, it would be something exceptional.

The first thing to consider, however, are other actions that could mislead you: the robot locates the base on the map, so it is advisable to always start cleaning from the base; Furthermore, it is not advisable to transport the robot by hand, so that it does not become disoriented (if it must be moved, the robot has manual control to operate it using the arrows).

If you wish, you can try to delete the map (by going to maps and dragging to the left, where it will give you the option to delete it), and create it again, always starting, as we indicated, from the base.

The same thing happens to me as to Mari Carmen Tomas Arasa. I have had the vacuum cleaner since November 2019 and for a couple of months the vacuum cleaner has stopped without having cleaned all the rooms and it does not return to the base either. I have reset it several times. but keep doing the same thing. At first it worked perfectly but its operation has been deteriorating.

To create a new map in the new house, simply set it to clean from the base, and when it detects that it is different from the one it has, it will create a new one.

To delete the previous one (you can do it before or after creating the new one), go to maps and drag it to the left, it will give you the option to delete it.

  16. Hello, I have one Conga 3490 Elite. As time has passed I have noticed that its performance worsens. Sometimes it stops and stops working, other times it loses the map. He has done these two things a couple of times. But the worst thing, and what happens frequently lately, is that it doesn't clean some rooms completely. In one in particular, only clean the edges. I have checked the configuration several times and it is completely clean. This is the third time I remade the mapping from scratch but every time I make a new map the errors accumulate.
Any ideas? Can the robot be reset?

To clean them, you must actually use a soft dry cloth, the sensors are at the bottom, in the semicircle where the side brush is (you can see the drawing in the instruction manual). Once you clean it, try pressing the start button for several seconds, and then turn the device on again.

  18. Hello, again, Carlos.

Yes, you can do it without problem. On the one hand you will have the map of the house (with its charging base located in a fixed place, from which you will start the cleaning), and on the other hand, you will take the Conga to the terraces and you will have her clean there. If you save the map for each terrace, you will have several different maps that you can choose to work with.

  19. Hello, Carlos, thank you for coming to our website.

This robot, when using different maps, works in the following way: once you create a map, if you take it to clean another home (or in your case, the terrace), it will detect that it is not the map it knows, and it will start creating a new map. At the end, it will ask you if you want to save it, and that's it, you will have two maps, in which you can create cleaning plans for each one, etc.

The ideal is to start the cleaning from the charging base, because then the robot already has everything located and returns to it when finished, but if you don't have a plug in one of them, you won't be able to... In any case, you can clean it anyway with the robot, which will go through it completely anyway.

One last thing. Once I have made the map of the terraces, I can run the Vacuum Cleaner manually without having to change the charging base every time I make one of the terraces. That is, I carry the Conga to the terrace and once there, manage it from the application and when I finish I take it to charge or that may affect its operation.

When I took it to the other floor and started cleaning it again, it only registered the already created map and on that map it began to clean, let's say adding spaces and rooms to the map on the upper floor, once it was finished it gave me the option to save the map but it was the initial map rectified with the new rooms, but not a new map. 1) to map each of the terraces do I have to put in the charging base?
    2) How do I do the mapping on the terrace that does not have a plug?
    3) once the maps of the terraces are made, I can carry the conga to each of the terraces manually and when they finish I will load it myself? Would it cause any problems? It's so I don't have to put the charging base every time I build a terrace.

If so, you may have some kind of problem or obstacle when returning to the charging base. Try to locate it in another place, preferably as central and clear as possible, and start cleaning from the base. When changing the site base, it would be best to delete the current map (going to maps, dragging it to the left and clicking delete) and create a new one.

If possible, it is best not to carry the robot by hand, so that it does not become disoriented about its position on the map. Therefore, it is better that in that case, you remove the obstacle that bothers it or if that is not possible, that you use manual mode to control the robot as if it were a remote-controlled car.

Now, to start over, try turning off the robot, pressing the main button for several seconds, and start cleaning from the charging base.

Well, it's a very strange thing, we couldn't say why that happens to you. We suggest two possibilities, one that you go to maps, and drag those strange maps that appear to the left to eliminate them, and then map your house (remember to start mapping from the charging base).

Additionally, if that doesn't work for you, you can try creating another user and link the robot with it again, starting from scratch.

  41. Hello again, Francesc.

First of all, when doing the pairing process, make sure that both the mobile phone from which it is done and the robot itself are close to the Wi-Fi, so that they have good coverage (we also take the opportunity to remember that the Wi-Fi must be 2,4 GHz , not the 5 GHz one, which will say 5G or similar).

As for linking, if it doesn't work for you, you can try doing the manual process. When you get “Sending a message to the robot”, go to Settings > Network and Internet and connect to the network with a name similar to “Conga_***.” Then, after two or three seconds, you select the normal Wi-Fi network again. After returning to the app, in a few seconds you will see how it connects.

If it works for you and later in the future, it happens again that you are disconnected, a trick that usually works is to go to profile-robots, arrow to the right, to enter settings. When you enter that screen, the robot will reconnect (you can also try, in the same way, in profile-log out, and log in again).

If the robot finishes cleaning the plant and does not have the base on it, it will not be able to return, logically. The best thing is, when you have several floors, to find a location for the base on each of them and always start cleaning from the charging base, so the robot can return to it when finished. You can also get another base, and thus have one on each floor (and as I said, the cleaning should start by starting the robot from the base).

First, check if you have marked the complete cleaning plan, to see if that room is included. You can also create a cleaning plan with just that room, and see what it does, in case there is a problem with it. And additionally, create a cleaning plan by hand including all the rooms, and see if it cleans the entire floor.

On the other hand, if this doesn't solve it for you, you should probably delete the map and map again (to do this, click on maps, drag to the left and click delete). To do the mapping, remember that the robot must start doing it from the charging base.

The robot has a sensor to detect if it has the tank and if it is properly installed. First try putting the solids tank back in, see if it gives you any messages, and then put the liquids tank back in, it has to fit well, you will hear a click. It may also happen that you do not have the filter installed in the water tank, check it (or check if it is correctly installed).

    • Hello, Lidia, thank you for visiting our website.

To connect the Conga, it is best to place the robot and the mobile phone near the router to which you are going to connect. The connection must be 2,4 GHz, so if your router is dual, you must keep in mind that you must choose this, and not the 5 GHz one (which will say 5G or similar).

In principle, the connection process is automatic, but it is possible that due to the router or phone configuration, it may not work for you. Check in the phone settings if an option called “Activate Wifi automatically” or similar (depending on the version) is activated, which automatically connects to quality Wifi networks, and can cause problems.

If that doesn't work for you and your router is dual (that is, 2,4 and 5 GHz), you may have to change some settings so that it doesn't choose it automatically. You can see this tutorial that explains it.

You could do what you say, and the robot would interpret that room as a new map, which you could save.

However, the best solution to clean that room would be to create a cleaning plan, only for that room (you go to plan, and click on the one at the top right, give it a name and choose the room in question). This way, you can clean only this room whenever you want, both directly and by programming that plan).

One thing, we imagine that you have the water tank on, and that it doesn't give you any other error message, right? On the other hand, does this happen to you when scrubbing in Scrubbing mode? Try scrubbing with Auto mode, see if it happens to you too, and tell us.

  63. Hello, Rocío, thank you for coming to our website.

First of all, we will tell you another aspect. If what you want is to clean some rooms and not others, you do not need to restrict the ones you do not want, possibly the best way is to create cleaning plans, in which you include the ones you want to clean (and the robot will no longer enter the ones you have not marked on the plan).

This also has the advantage that you then have the plan saved, and you can select it both to clean directly and when creating schedules. It is very useful when it comes to cleaning the most frequented rooms (for example, creating a cleaning plan that is room + hallway).

On the other hand, we don't really know why this happened to you, was it orange or red? What you can do is go to profile-robots-right arrow, and reset the robot to factory settings (then you will have to remap). And then, try, as we told you before, to mark what you want to clean by creating cleaning plans, it will be much more comfortable for you.

  64. Hello, good morning, a week ago I acquired my conga 3490 elite was super happy with it but yesterday I told it to clean some rooms and restricted others. When it had been about 15 minutes it started to spin very strangely and it stopped and the light turned red. I put it on charge and in the afternoon it I tried and the same thing happened to me. I looked and cleaned all the wheels and they are perfect. This morning I put it on again and in the middle it stopped alone with the blue light. The truth is that I don't know what to do. I'm a little upset because I do not not know what happens. Thank you and I hope your answer.

A few days ago I bought this conga 3490 and so far everything is fantastic but I have some doubts:
-Does the charging base always have to be plugged into the electrical outlet? When the robot is in standby, does it still have the blue light?
Both the charging base and the conga They always have a blue light on.

    • Hello, Lydia, thank you for coming to our website.

Yes, it is advisable that the base be plugged in, and the robot in it, this is the general recommendation of robot manufacturers (unless you are not going to use it for a long time, for example, a month). The robot will be with the blue light, yes. On the other hand, consumption is very low.

  66. Hello, Marta, thank you for visiting us.

Yes, you would have to map again. If you look, on the map that appears in the app, mark the location of the charging base. To solve it, you will have to delete the maps you have (if you go to maps, by moving the map to the left you can edit and delete), or you can also do it by going to profile-robots-arrow to the right, and pressing reset at the top right, which will restore factory settings.

Once this is done, you will have to create the map again; To do this, start the cleaning with the robot on the charging base, so that it can locate it.

Now I have put it in the room where I have the router, and at first it worked fine, I had changed the charging base icon to the new room on the map, and it cleaned yesterday and returned to its charging base as usual. However, today the charging base icon on the app's map appears again in the room it was in originally, and the Conga He has not been able to return to his base.
Do I have to remap the house again and delete the old map?

I press the button manually and I don't know how to move it either.

  69. Hello, Quique, thank you also for visiting our website and for your kind words.

The 3490 does those 4 functions, in this way: with the central brush and the side brush, it sweeps; through the suction mouth where the central brush is, suck; If you dry mop it, mop it; and if you fill the water tank, you can scrub.

It is not that there is a button for each of these functions (although in the case of scrubbing, you do have the Scrubbing mode, so that it performs the back and forth movement).

The normal thing is that you sweep and vacuum at the same time (so that it is swept away, it stays inside). However, in this robot you can even deactivate the vacuuming, going to power, and choosing that option.

In the same way, when you mop, you will be mopping at the same time, because you will be wearing it, and normally you will also be vacuuming and sweeping (although as in the previous case, you could mop and have the power deactivated, so that it does not suck, or mop only, with the power off). However, the usual thing (although depending on tastes and colors) is to do it at the same time as vacuuming, since we are cleaning, to vacuum and mop at the same time.

  70. Hello, and thank you for your articles. I just purchased the 3490 and I have questions about how the sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and scrubbing functions are performed. I don't even know if the questions I will post below are possible. In general I found the instruction manual very poor, the operation seems simple in automatic mode, but if you want to squeeze it out it starts to get complicated, at least for me
    1. How do you just sweep? What is the symbol in the app?
    2. How do you just vacuum? What is the symbol?
    3. How do you just mop? And how do you do it to just mop it with water?
    4. How do you do just scrubbing?

And then also how the combination of them would be done.

    Thank you!

Well, we have not had this problem of duplicating the map with this robot or with others in this range of Conga, but it did happen to us once with another model. In case it helps you, the problem in that case the robot had when it came to getting under a sofa, where it passed just a little and, for whatever reason, it lost track of the space and interpreted it as a new surface, doubling it. If this were the case, the solution could be either to prevent access to the area under the sofa, or to buy some extra legs at a hardware store, so that it has more space to pass through.

  77. Hello, Patricia, thank you for coming to our website.

It shouldn't be because of capital letters, we handle passwords with upper and lower case, and there is no problem. Regarding the password, one thing that is mentioned in the manual is that it cannot be greater than 32 bits, check with the router manual or your telephone company to see if this is your case.

Another issue is that when linking, the robot is close to the router, to facilitate the connection. And another, which we do not know if you have seen, in this same article, in the section I am not able to connect the app with the robot, is that there are dual routers that work at 2,4 and 5 GHz, and that automatically determine the connection , so it can cause problems when linking. In that section we explain it to you, and you have a link that can help you if this is your case.

When it is charging, the robot will flash, once it is charged, it should have solid blue light, is that correct? On the other hand, once charged, it must remain in its charging base and be plugged in, otherwise it will discharge. See if you can solve it with these clues.

  81. Hello Mercedes, thanks for visiting us.

If it is set as disconnected or offline, a method that also usually works, and is simpler, is to enter profile-robots-robot settings, as if you were going to change some configuration, by doing this you may be reconnected.

As for the fact that it doesn't let you install it again... are you getting any robots now, or are you just not getting any? In any case, to install it, you must follow the usual instructions, that is, put the robot near the Wi-Fi router, press the two buttons, give it permissions as requested, enter the Wi-Fi password, etc. With that, it should install it for you.

Another possibility that we suggest, if you can't, is to create a new account, with another email, and do all the configuration there (we handle it with several different accounts, and no problem).

Yes, indeed, it can be operated from outside the home, the only requirement is that the robot is connected to the home Wi-Fi. If it appears that it is not connected, a solution that sometimes works is the one you mentioned, log out and log in again. If it has not worked for you, it is also possible that the robot, in the location that has the charging base, does not receive the signal sufficiently, so a solution would be to change the location base or install a signal enhancer.

  85. Hello, Margarita, thank you for coming to our website.

As for the first question, we couldn't say... Try creating a plan with just that room, see what it does, or delete that plan and create it again, maybe for some reason it didn't work well...

As for the second, in principle you should get involved, although it possibly depends on how you have configured the map. We mean, if at the time of mapping, when the chairs are there, it has interpreted that area as an area that could not be accessed, and therefore it already interprets it as "unusable." We say this because in our case, many times we have chairs in one place or another, and we move them, and there is no problem, but possibly the best thing in these cases is that the first mapping is done in a clear area, so that it recognizes everything. the surface, and then it will enter or not depending on whether it can do so. In short, based on that, perhaps the best thing is that you do a new mapping, clearing the area as much as possible.

    • Hello! We have one Conga 3490 since Three Wise Men and we have two doubts that we do not know how to solve:

The first is that we have programmed a plan that, when it is time to do it, leaves a room undone. We have tried merging all the rooms and without merging, and the result does not change. Furthermore, it is a room that we have close to the router, so we rule out a connectivity problem, as well as a problem with the mapping of the home, in which it recognized the room well. Any idea what could happen?

The second problem is that there are two rooms where it does not go under the table. Regarding this, it should be said that when we mapped the house, she did not enter there because there were chairs that did not allow passage, but we believed that as she worked in the following days she would recognize the changes (she did get under it when we sent her specifically to that area without obstacles) and would "update" the map. Will we have to do a complete remapping and reconfiguration of the device?

Thank you very much in advance for the help. All the best.

Perhaps the Wi-Fi coverage where the robot is is not perfect, or there has been some micro-cut in the signal that has disconnected it. One possibility is to have a Wi-Fi amplifier, if it is a matter of coverage. Anyway, if it happens to you, try disconnecting the session and reconnecting it (in profile-logout). With that, you can solve it, without having to uninstall the app.

  89. Hello, Mercedes, thank you for visiting our website.

Regarding what you say about the connection, in principle it should leave you through the phone data, it does not have to be from a Wifi, in fact, we have quite a few robots configured and they can all be managed as long as you have a connection to the Internet, we don't know why that happens to you. The only thing we can think of is that sometimes, with some application it is as if the connection "hangs" (it has happened to us with WhatsApp, for example), and if you disable and enable the data connection, it comes back to work.

Regarding the other question, you would have to configure the connection to the Wi-Fi in the second home, just as you did in the first. You do not have to delete the data or start the maps from scratch, as soon as the robot begins to map that other house, it will realize that the map does not match the one it has saved, and will begin to build a new map, which when finished , will give you the option to save (you have up to 5 maps).

Try doing it and mapping again, once it finishes you should be able to save the map. A quick way to test to see if there is some kind of problem with saving the map is to lock the robot in a room, so it will interpret that room as the total map, and when it is finished it will ask you to save it (then, if you want, you can delete the map of that room, clicking on maps, and dragging the map to the left).

You can also try logging out and logging back in (in profile, top left you can log out).

To add the missing room to the map, you will actually have to create a new map.

    You have two options:

One, go to profile-robots and click on the arrow to the right to enter settings. Once there, click on Restart to restore the factory settings (it will return everything to its initial values). Then, you create the new map.

Another, put it to map again directly (that is, set it to clean automatically, leaving all the doors open, so that it can access all the rooms). When finished, the robot will detect that the plan does not match the map it had, and will ask you if you want to save this new map. You say yes, you set up the rooms, etc. Then, you will have two maps, the first one you had created and this new one. Click on "map" on the main Control screen, and the two maps will appear. You choose the first one, and drag it to the left, so that you get the option to delete.

The 150 minutes of maximum duration are in optimal conditions (just as vehicle manufacturers do with consumption, for example), that is, on hard and smooth floors, without obstacles, at Eco power level, without the mop on, etc).

The more maneuvers the robot has to make, the more obstacles it has to overcome or climb, or the more resistance it has on the ground, the more battery it will consume.

However, it seems like a short time, we have had it in cleaning sessions of 50 and 60 minutes, and it still had more than half the charge left. Try what we told you, clean with eco power and on hard floors without obstacles, and see what durations you achieve.

On the other hand, to make it come out again to clean, put it in automatic mode, perhaps you have chosen other cleaning modes and that is why it has not come out again. Do you have the complete map yet?

  107. Hello, good morning, I have the conga 3490 and the battery lasts very little, the longest it has lasted for me has been 57 minutes and supposedly it lasts about 150 minutes and then when it is going to be charged it does not come back out to continue cleaning which I don't know if it could be due to the application or how I have to do

I've had the robot since July and it has been working very well but now it doesn't recognize the water tank so it sucks but doesn't pour the liquid and doesn't moisten the mop.
    You could help me.
    Thank you

    • Hello, Paqui, thanks for visiting us.

The robot has a sensor, when you put the water tank on it, it has to detect it, and it will appear in the corresponding section (if it doesn't detect it, it will tell you to install it to be able to scrub). Verify that all the elements are correctly installed (the tank itself, the filter, etc.), because if this is not the case, it may not be detected.

  109. Hello, Sara, thank you for coming to our website.

Try resetting again, and start cleaning with the robot on the charging base. Leave the doors to the rooms wide open and remove all obstacles that may exist. The robot has to leave the room in which it has the base, and go around the entire house. Don't you leave that first room?

  110. Hello Julio, thanks for visiting us.

When merging, you have to choose two rooms that are close together, otherwise it won't let you.

Possibly the ones you are choosing are not (maybe it seems that way, but something has been created in the middle that separates them, and you don't see it; try enlarging the map).

  111. Good morning,

Yesterday I bought the conga 3490 and I can't get it to map the house. He only makes a room and tells me that he is finished, that if I want to save the name of the map.

I tried it 7 times and even retesting it with factory settings it still does the same thing.

    please help!

I try to merge a room that Conga has divided incorrectly, and it gives me the message “please check if the area can be combined.
What can I do to allow me to merge it?
Thank you very much for your response

    • Hello good morning. I have the conga 3490 since August and it works perfectly for me. My problem is that I want to change the hepatitis filter but I can't find any spare parts. Do you know where I can find him?

  113. Hello, Héctor, thank you for visiting our page and for your words of encouragement.

As for the first question, the best thing if you have a lot of hair is to use the rubber brush, which largely prevents tangles, and one of the sides is even detachable, to untangle any that may become coiled. On the other hand, we don't know how you do the test, but if you lift the robot, it won't work, you can test it with lint on the floor, see if it sucks them up. Previously, clean the central brush (and the side) and the high-efficiency filter well, in case it is a little clogged.

On the other hand, as for scrubbing, you have to have the water tank and the mop on, if you don't have both, you will get that message. Sometimes, even with both things on, it might come out; If this is the case, try this way: put the mop first and then the tank; then press the water tank button in the app; If you still get the error message, take out the water tank and put it back in; In this way, it has worked for us.

  114. Hello, thank you for being there and answering all of us who have questions and problems.
I have the conga 3490 since August 2019, and I have a couple of problems, the first is that in my conga 3490 For about a month now, when vacuuming, everything remains a tangle of hair and lint wrapped around the roller and at its ends, even getting inside the removable piece at one end of the roller, and there is hardly anything inside the tank, I have tried to check if it is because it does not suck anything and that is why it does not go into the tank, but no matter how much I put my hand underneath it I do not notice any suction but I don't know if it has to be like that.
The second problem is that for a few days when I put the mop and the water tank and when I click on the app to start mopping I get a message saying "please install the water tank and the mop first", I have uninstalled the app. application and I installed it again and it's still the same, I have also deleted the robot as you proposed in another comment and nothing.
I am desperate, what do I do???
Sorry for the blurb. Thank you very much.

I have changed house and I would like to reset my conga 3490, or know how I can delete the created maps and cleaning plans?
    Thank you.

    • Hello, Mari Carmen, thank you for visiting our website.

While in control, click on the map you want to delete. Once you enter the map selection menu, click on the map and drag to the left, a menu will appear that allows you to edit and delete the map. With cleaning plans, you can do it in a similar way, entering Cleaning Plans and dragging each plan to the left.

You can also enter profile-robots and click on the right arrow, which will take you to Robot Settings. There you will see a Reset option at the top right, which will restore the robot's factory settings.

  116. Hello, Isa, thank you for coming to our website.

To open the dirt container, hold it with the flat side facing up. With one hand you hold it, and with the other, where it says Open, you pull down gently (it may be a little harder the first time). As for the mixed tank, you can open it by removing the filter, to empty it easily.

  118. Why doesn't it recognize the scrubbing tank? He tells me to place the tank correctly, and it is correctly placed, I have cleaned everything and I can't make it clean, I have had it for two months, what should I do? The rest works fine, it is model 3490

    • You have found a solution, the same thing happens to me, I have only scrubbed twice, the third time it does not recognize the tank.

Try doing the entire connection process again. To cut a long story short, you can try to delete the robot, in profile, robots, click on the arrow to the right, and then delete robot, and then add it again and configure the Wi-Fi connection.

  120. Hello...last week the wires went off at home and since that day I have not been able to reconnect the robot...the lights only flash blue when I bring it close to the charger...but nothing else, I cannot connect it to the Wi-Fi, not even manually does nothing…

  121. Hello, Pilar, thank you for visiting us.

The first thing to keep in mind is that it is not compatible with 5 GHz networks, and your Orange Router is likely to be dual and handle 2,4 and 5 GHz networks, you must choose the 2,4 GHz Wifi (the one that does not have 5G or similar). Additionally, when configuring the connection, the robot should not be far from the router.

Another problem that some users of connectable robots encounter is due to smart routers, which connect you to the 2,4 GHz or 5 GHz network depending on the type of device, which could also be your case. If so, perhaps you should deactivate this smart Wifi so that it can detect it. Here you can see a tutorial about the topic.

    • Thank you very much, you have saved my life!

I was desperate, yesterday my Conga It went offline after 2 months and was working perfectly. I tried everything (restarting the router, uninstalling the app, turning the robot on and off, moving the base, trying to connect it to another phone, etc.). There was no way for it to reconnect, it kept making errors. Already resigned, I decided to use it without my cell phone, I thought: "Well, let it clean the whole house when I press the button and that's it, without programming it by rooms or days." Shame on me, I had put my Conga to vacuum the dining room, so now, once she was disconnected from her cell phone, the only thing she did was go to the dining room, clean and return to her little house. If she locked her in the room, she would get stubborn and slam herself against the door to try to get to the dining room, and if she couldn't, she would go to rest in her little house. She thought she would never be able to use it again (except to vacuum the dining room, which is the only thing she did).

Blessed was the time I read your comment. My problem was on the mobile!! I have done that thing of removing it from automatically connecting to the Wi-Fi (it was really hard for me because I couldn't find that option on my phone, in my case it was called WiFi+) and by magic it was re-linked. Excellent! I'm very happy!

Thank you very much, really! Because I don't know you, otherwise I would invite you to some bravas and some beers ;D

      • Well, even if it is solved like this, I do not agree that it is the solution (paradox)
Imagine that you are away from home, your mobile phone (obviously) will not have your home Wi-Fi and you will work through 4G/5G or whatever you have. Conga If you will be at home, you will have Wi-Fi. You could still control your cleaner (or you should be able to).
The question is why the mobile/app must be on the same Wi-Fi as the conga? Once the sweeper is connected to Wi-Fi, it should no longer matter how the mobile phone connects.

        • Hello, Germán, thank you for visiting us and for your contributions.

In that you are right, as we indicated in the corresponding section, you can control the robot while connected to another Wi-Fi or using the data, that does not matter (which is why, obviously, you do not have to be at home, you can do it from anywhere). Another issue is that, in order to make that first connection, the process is more direct.

  122. Hello,
I just bought a conga 3490 and I am not able to connect to the robot.
I have Red Orange and I have tried it from an Android phone and an Apple phone and it does not connect to both.
What could I do? Is it a robot fault or am I doing something wrong?

  123. Hello, Cristina, thank you for visiting our website.

To vacuum, you can use either of the two brushes. The bristle and silicone one works well on all types of floors, while the rubber one is ideal if there is a lot of hair at home, and for deep cleaning carpets.

On the other hand, to mop, you have to put the mixed tank with the mop.

  124. Hello! We have the Conga 3490 and we have doubts about what elements (brush) should be put in so that the Conga We do deep vacuuming and scrubbing afterwards. We have several plants and it is interesting for us to be able to put the Conga in the morning in a plant (while we are at work), and from the App, asking you to vacuum first and scrubbing later. What are the utensils that we should use for this? We want you to complete vacuuming and scrubbing of plants every day… Thank you!
