In the world of robot vacuum cleaners it seems that everything has been invented. However, some brands are committed to offering something different, and the Dibea D850, which we have had the pleasure of testing, is a good example of this.
The Dibea D850 is D-shaped (like Neato robots) instead of the traditional round design. Although we are not used to it and it may seem strange, this shape allows it to be much more effective in cleaning edges and corners, where many robots are not able to reach. In addition, it offers several very interesting features and is capable of scrubbing.

Dibea D850: our assessment
The Dibea D850 has obtained a rating of 92 out of 100, based on 7 opinions. It is a complete and effective robot vacuum cleaner, with good suction power, 1.200 Pascals, above most robots with a similar price. Sharpens corners well, thanks to its D shape, and works well on all types of surfaces, adapting the power depending on them.
In addition, it is very thin, so it slips under any furniture, and it is, without a doubt, the quietest of the ones we have tested. Its studied air flow design allows it to combine high absorption with a reduced noise level, its 45 dB is well below most robots on the market.
Box contents
The product comes very well packaged. In fact, it comes with two boxes, one on the outside, made of brown cardboard, which serves as protection, and the box itself in which the robot and its accessories are included.

Dibea D850: start-up
As always, It is advisable to fully charge the robot before putting it into operation, especially the first time.. To do this, we place the charging base in a place where the robot can detect it properly and has room to maneuver (approximately one meter on each side of the charging base and 1,5 to 2 meters forward).
The base is plugged in, which must be supported on the wall or on the socket, and the robot is located so that its terminals (the small metal plates underneath) are placed on top of the base terminals. While charging, the light will flash yellow, and when fully charged, it will stay solid green (when low on battery, the light will be red). The charging time is about four hours, but it is recommended, as usual, that the first charge be longer, about 12 hours.
The robot can be started by pressing the START button on the top, or using the remote control.
Dibea D850: operation
The Dibea D850 can clean both dry and wet, incorporating the water tank it comes with and the microfiber mop. As for dry cleaning, the robot's automatic mode will alternate general cleaning, moving in an S or W shape, with cleaning the edges, sticking to the walls.
Its D shape is especially useful in that last situation, since it allows you to speed up cleaning the corners, doing a great job in this regard.
As usual, When the robot detects that it is running out of battery, it will return to the base to recharge (in this case, when it is below 20%). Its lithium battery allows it a good autonomy of 120 minutes, enough to clean a medium-sized apartment (100-120 square meters).
Navigation is fluid. Although it does not have room mapping or laser or camera navigation, like other more advanced (and more expensive) robots, The Dibea D850 moves well, thanks to its infrared sensors.
The robot adapts the power according to the type of surface. Its 1.200 Pascals of suction power place it in the medium or medium-high zone in this section., outperforming most robots in its price range (it is on the same level as the super sales Conga Excellence).
Its wheels have good travel, allowing it to overcome obstacles and avoid entanglements.. In carpet testing, she has been able to climb onto thick carpet (about 1,5 centimeters) and has had no problems with tangling on fringed carpets; If at any time, he has noticed that he was going to get stuck with these, he has leaned back and gotten out of the problem alone, without help.
The dust container has a good capacity, 300 milliliters, sufficient for several cleaning cycles, is located inside the robot. To access it, simply press the lid (where it says PUSH) and remove it with the handle it includes.
One of the things that has caught our attention the most is how little noise it makes. Compared to other robot vacuum cleaners, the Dibea D850 is very quiet. Its 45 decibels place it at the top in this area; you can talk quietly or carry out any other activity while the robot works.
Remote control
The remote control, which has a small screen, allows us to access several additional functionalities:
Programming Languages- We can program the D850 to start working at a certain time every day.
Start and pause the robot, through the central button, and direct it, through the arrows.
Activate concentrated cleaning mode, which will make the robot move in a spiral around the starting point (very useful if we have dropped something and it has scattered on the floor).
Send it to the charging base, pressing the button with the drawing of a little house (in any case, as already mentioned, it returns automatically when it detects that it is running out of battery).
Programming Languages
There are more and more robot vacuum cleaners that include this feature, which was previously more typical of higher ranges, and the Dibea robot was not going to be any less. First, you must set the clock by pressing the CLOCK button, and changing the hours and minutes with the direction arrows. Once the clock is set, we can program it, for which we will proceed in a similar way, but by pressing the PLAN button. To confirm the changes, press the PLAY button.
To cancel the schedule, all schedule numbers will be set to zero.
Mopping and scrubbing
More robots capable of vacuuming and mopping are coming onto the market, and It is an alternative that we like more and more. The Dibea D850 not only vacuums, but can also scrub and mop. Are the results satisfactory?
In our opinion, the result is good. The use of the mop allows you to achieve brighter floors, especially in wooden ones and marble-type porcelain tiles. If you spray the mop with a polishing or special mop spray, the result is fantastic.
The Dibea D850 is capable of vacuuming and mopping at the same time (since it does not cover the slot through which dirt is absorbed, as happens in some other models).
On the other hand, if you want to use the mopping function, you must fill the water tank (the water tank is the one with the mop attached with Velcro). It is a flat tank, with not too much capacity, about 80 milliliters, enough to scrub a not too large room; In our tests, it has scrubbed, for example, a 12 square meter kitchen without problems.
If the room is larger and you see that it has run out of water, you simply have to remove the tank from the robot and fill it again (we recommend that you do not do it with the tank placed on the robot).
To increase its autonomy a little in this sense, we recommend that, in addition to filling the tank, you wet the mop directly. If you want to improve the results, add a little floor cleaner to the water (a few drops, keep in mind that the tank is very small).
The results are quite good. It may not be as effective as scrubbing by hand, and if there is dirt stuck to it, it probably won't remove it, but it is very useful for everyday use, since we can always have the kitchen scrubbed, the robot will work for us.

Opinions about the Dibea D850
It arrived very well packaged, and I am satisfied with the robot: maneuverable, functional and with good autonomy (lasts up to two hours).
Everything is great, the robot works well and has a scrubbing function. I recommend the product.
It takes away a lot of cleaning work and leaves the floor clean and shiny.. In addition to sweeping, it also scrubs, and I had not realized how dirty the floor was, but when I changed the mop, I noticed how dirty there was.
Good robot, vacuums and mops, and is programmable. Besides, It is very quiet when it is working. I am very satisfied.
