Assessment

95

The 1590 is part of the 1000 Series of Conga, which in principle is the most basic range of the Spanish manufacturer. However, this new generation of robots Conga offers mid-range features and in some cases, even superior to high-end models from the competition.

Cecotec has among its goals democratize access to technology; For this reason, robots like this one are included in the 1000 Series, with a intelligent navigation system and high suction power, among other interesting features, which we will see throughout this extensive review.

Our assessment

La Conga 1590 Active has obtained 95 rating points out of 100. As usual for the brand, it is a multifunction robot, capable of sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and scrubbing, and performing all four functions at the same time, which in itself is an interesting advantage.

In addition, its suction power is quite high. With 1.400 Pascals, its power is similar to that of other devices whose price is significantly higher. On the other hand, it incorporates the most advanced scrubbing technology, and a special brush for homes with pets, configuring itself as a complete robot and with an attractive and modern design.

How is the difference Conga 1590 from other robots Conga

Conga 1590 vs Conga 1490

The 1590 is very similar to the Conga 1490, they basically differ in the equipment, since There are some elements that the 1590 comes standard, while in the 1490 they are optional, such as the magnetic strip, the BestFriend Care brush and the exclusive solids container. The difference between the two is around 20 euros.

Conga 1590 vs Conga 1690

If we compare it with the top of the range Series 1000, the Conga 1690 Pro, the price difference is also around 20 euros, and they share many of their characteristics, but la Conga 1690 Pro incorporates an optical sensor in addition to gyroscopic navigation, which allows you to have more efficient movements, and Its suction power rises to an impressive 2.700 Pascals..

This power achieved by the 1690 Pro is the same as that of high-end robots such as the Conga 3690 or the Conga 4090, and above other high-end competing robots. For all these reasons, Although the 1590 is an excellent alternative, from our point of view it is worth opting for the 1690.

Conga 1590 vs Conga 3090

The 1590 is a 2019 model, while the Conga 3090 It is from 2018. Although at first it may seem like a strange comparison, both robots are around the same price, so many may hesitate between one model and the other.

In favor of the 3090, which has the most advanced navigation system—based on laser—that allows you to interact with the app (for example, to mark areas to clean or restricted zones) and save the map of the house, and a powerful suction of 2.000 Pascals compared to 1.400 for the 1590.

In favor of the 1590, which includes the BestFriend Care rubber brush, especially for homes with pets, it has 3 scrubbing levels compared to 1 of the 3090, and its autonomy is 160 minutes, while the 3090 reaches 110 (In both cases, they have loading and continuation, so if the robot does not finish the cleaning, it resumes where it left off).

Commissioning of the Conga 1590 Active

Before putting the robot to work, it is recommended to perform a long-term charge (for example, leaving it charging overnight). Subsequently, it will take between 3 and 4 hours to fully charge it.

Preferably, the base will be located in a central place in the house, where the robot can detect it well and maneuver comfortably (it is recommended that there be one meter of free space to the sides and two in front, although it is only a recommendation, since (which, in practice, the robot can maneuver in much smaller spaces).

To start the robot, it can be done using the buttons on its top, through voice commands, using the remote control or using the app, which will allow us to access more functionalities, in addition to comfort. that it provides.

Compatible with voice commands

Therefore, in addition to charging the robot, The first thing we must do is install the app Conga 1590, available for iOS and Android, and create an account if you don't have one. The app itself will guide us through the installation process, which is very simple.

It is recommended that the robot be close to the router while this first installation process is being carried out, to facilitate the connection.

Operation of the Conga 1590 Active

As we indicated at the beginning, la Conga 1590 Active has an advanced navigation system, based on a gyroscope. The gyroscope is a kind of digital compass that allows the robot to locate itself and know where it has passed and where it has not.

This gives you a superior efficiency to other robots of similar prices whose navigation is random or in real time. The 1590 will clean the house faster, and also will not leave any corner uncleaned.

Through the app we can see how the robot goes through all the rooms of the house in an orderly manner. The app will also show us the cleaning history and allow us access to other functions, although it is not interactive nor does it save the map. Later, we will tell you in more detail about some aspects of the application.

If need limit the robot's access to an area of the house (for example, a baby's room, the children's play area, etc.), we can use the included magnetic strip.

It can also be used, for example, to prevent the robot from climbing on a carpet when mopping, or so that it does not enter the pets' food area.

Delimiting restricted areas using the magnetic stripe

La Conga 1590 is a very balanced robot. Its notable suction power, typical of the mid-range in which it is located, provides excellent performance on all types of surfaces.

It also does an outstanding job cleaning carpets.. It is capable of exceeding up to 2 centimeters in height, so it has no problems with carpets of a certain thickness, and it incorporates Turbo Clean Carpet technology, so it automatically activates the Turbo when it detects that it is on one, for an optimal result.

Conga 1590 climbing a rug

One of the new features that this robot incorporates is the new BestFriend Care rubber brush. It is very useful in homes with animals or where there is a large amount of hair, as it largely prevents tangles.. In addition, thanks to its design, it also helps to remove dirt..

On the other hand, thanks to its renewed hardware and a good job of acoustic insulation, the noise remains at a very acceptable level, below 64 decibels, so it is not annoying.

La Conga 1590 reaches 160 minutes of autonomy, which is more than enough for medium-sized homes, especially if we take into account that, thanks to its advanced navigation system, it cleans very quickly.

However, if this were not enough, the 1590 Active It has Total Surface technology. If it doesn't finish cleaning completely, it will return to the base and once charged, it will resume cleaning where it left off.

Total Surface Technology

Using the app

The robot can be operated using the buttons on its top, via the remote control, via voice commands or using the application, which is what allows you to get the most out of it, since it allows us to personalize the cleaning as we want.

Through the app, you can choose between the multiple cleaning modes that the 1590 includes (we will tell you about them in detail in the next section), and define aspects such as power level or water flow, both when ordering the robot for immediate cleaning and when programming it.

Programming Languages
Setting the cleaning mode, power and water flow

The app not only allows you access to numerous features. Also offers you the advantage of being able to start the robot at any time and from anywhere, in addition to being able to see how the robot is cleaning the rooms on the map, or view the cleaning history.

Mapped

Keep in mind that if you have a dual router, with two networks, one 2,4 GHz and one 5 GHz, you must choose the 2,4 GHz one (the 5 GHz one will have 5G or similar).

If your phone works with Android, keep in mind that an option called “Activate Wifi automatically” or similar (depending on the version) will normally be checked, which automatically connects to quality Wifi networks, and can cause problems (since possibly connecting to the 5 GHz network).

To turn it off, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Preferences (or look for that option or something similar in settings) and uncheck “Turn Wi-Fi on automatically.”

Then manually change the connection; Return to the app and when the message “Sending message to the robot” appears, go to Settings > Network and Internet and connect to the network with a name similar to “Conga_***.” After returning to the app, in a few seconds you will see how it connects.

Another problem that some users of connectable robots encounter is due to smart routers, which connect you to the 2,4 GHz or 5 GHz network depending on the type of device. If this were your case, perhaps you would have to deactivate this smart Wifi so that it can detect it. Here you can see a tutorial about the topic.

Cleaning modes

La Conga 1590 Active is highly configurable. In addition to its 3 power levels and 3 scrubbing levels, it has 10 cleaning modes, so you can configure home cleaning according to your needs:

Auto mode: in this mode, which is the one that works by default, The robot will cover 100% of the house, in an orderly manner, until it is completely cleaned, returning at that moment to the base. If it has not finished, it will also go to the base and, once loaded, it will continue cleaning in the place where it left it.

Edges: When we want clean dirt that accumulates in corners and corners, this mode is ideal. In it, the robot will go through the rooms sticking to the walls.

Turbo Clean Carpet: To achieve the maximum effectiveness in cleaning carpets, with this mode, the robot activates the turbo when it detects that it is on one.

Returning home: Although the robot returns home when it is finished or runs out of battery, sometimes we will want to send it to the base manually. It is the same function as the button with the house, on the top of the device.

Twice: Yes there is some area that accumulates dirt, or in which we want to carry out a more thorough cleaning, with the Twice mode, the Conga 1590 will make several passes.

Intensive scrubbing: Cecotec's most advanced technology; The robot will make back-and-forth movements, forward and backward, similar to what people do when scrubbing, to achieve an excellent result.

Area: To clean small areas, of a few square meters (for example, under the table when we finish eating), area mode is perfect.

Gyro: Similar to automatic mode, stops when you want clean a room.

Random: In this mode, the robot will perform more varied trajectories; In addition to moving in straight lines, it will also make diagonal movements, so that nothing is missed.

Manual: If we have to move the robot to another roomInstead of carrying it in our hands, we can drive it as if it were a remote-controlled car.

The best scrubbing technology from Cecotec

One of the characteristics that has distinguished the Conga It's just that they are the robots that do the scrubbing. This has allowed the Spanish company to position itself at the cutting edge of multifunction robots, achieving the best result in this area.

In the case of the Conga 1590 Active, like others Conga new generation, incorporates the intensive scrubbing technology (Scrubbing). Thanks to it, the robot performs a back-and-forth movement that helps to remove dirt and thus achieve a better result.

In addition, Its mixed tank includes electronic dosing of the water flow, which allows us to define the water flow based on the needs of each moment: low level, for light scrubbing (or for scrubbing, for example, wooden floors); medium level, for day-to-day cleaning; and high level, when there is a higher degree of dirt (for example, to clean the kitchen after cooking).

The 1590 mop is made of microfiber and is composed of two materials, Being gentle on the most delicate floors, but effective when it comes to trapping dirt.

Advantages of Conga 1590 Active

Conga

It is a Conga

Cecotec has positioned itself as the leader in the Spanish vacuum cleaner market, thanks to its high quality-price ratio. Its new generation of robots, to which this one belongs Conga 1590, offers some very high performance, positioning itself as the reference to beat.

Silent, it won't bother you while you work

Silent

Although it has a high power, this robot maintains a noise level below 64 decibels, making it pretty quiet.

Conga 1590: opinions

I have had the Conga 990 Excellence and now I have changed to the 1590. The difference is notable, It is clean in an orderly manner and is more powerful. I recommend it.

Highly recommended, I have tried all their options and I am very happy. I had a Roomba series 6 years ago, and I've also tried a Samsung robot, and This one sucks much better than either of those two, it is more powerful and it also mops and scrubs.. Very good relationship between price and performance.

I am delighted with this robot vacuum cleaner. I have 3 cats that shed a lot of hair. I run it twice a day, it hardly makes any noise, so I can watch TV while. It overcomes obstacles and thick carpets very well, and runs through the entire house without leaving a single corner.

Good product, It is an efficient and organized robot, not like others that navigate the house without any order. Silent and with 3 power levels, I am very happy.

Does what it promises and is easy to maintain. It sweeps the entire surface and removes a lot of dirt. When you're done, it's easy to leave it ready for the next task.

Why buy one Conga 1590 Active

If you want a new generation robot, manageable through app and voice commands, with a advanced navigation technology, capable of cleaning 100% of the home, at a very reasonable price, the Conga 1590 can be an interesting alternative.

If you want to purchase a Spanish robot, robust and with a beautiful design. If there are many carpets in your home or you have pets, and you need help when cleaning. If you want a multifunction robot, which not only vacuums, but also helps you when scrubbing the house or mopping, Conga 1590 is a great option.

  1. Good morning, 3 weeks ago I acquired a cecotec conga 1590 active and I am very unhappy. I don't know if it's a configuration error, a factory error, or a Wi-Fi error, but I put it in auto and eco mode since they explained to me that the first few days it was in eco mode. But when it has been vacuuming for a few minutes, a beep goes off and it starts vacuuming randomly without meaning, making vacuuming inefficient, and on the map after an hour or so of vacuuming, only longitudinal lines appear along the length of the home, leaving a lot left unvacuumed. What solution do you see? Thank you.

  2. Hello good! I have acquired the conga 1590 a couple of days ago, and everything is going perfectly, but when it goes to the charging base after 1 or 2 days it suddenly starts beeping non-stop, could you tell me why that is? Thank you

  3. Hello, Simeon, thank you for coming to our website.

If we have understood you correctly, you mean that you do have it linked, but to give it the orders you have to do it through the assistant (ok, Google...). If you want to simplify it, you can do so by creating personalized routines, which replace the phrase you want to use with the one that must be used through the wizard.

  4. Hello, I recently purchased a Conga 1590 Active and I am not able to connect it to Google Home in my house. I have managed to link with the «Vacuum cleaner» application Conga», but you have to call from the assistant every time you want to give an order. It does not natively appear in the Google Home App. Any ideas on how I could solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

  5. Hello, I bought my 1590 robot a few days ago and I can't get the map of my house to stay recorded. Every time the robot starts cleaning it's like the first day and it leaves some areas untouched, what can I do to register the map of my house? Thank you

    • Hello Martin, thank you for coming to our website.

In the 1590, unlike other more advanced robots of the brand, the map is not saved for use in later cleanings, so in that sense, each time it is as if it were starting over; However, there is no reason to leave areas unpassed; check to see if there are any obstacles that make it difficult to get to those areas in any way, that the doors are wide open, etc.

  6. Hello
    I have 2 problems.
    1. When it is 24 hours without activity it starts beeping. Is there a way to remove that beep?
    2. At home the WiFi does not reach the entire house well, and we have a repeater. With the app it won't let me connect to the repeater. And with the router, it's hard for me and once I get it, the next day it puts me in the app without a line and the app doesn't work. conga with the app.

  7. Hi Daniel, thanks for stopping by, a good question.

In principle, the mixed tank is to combine the two functions, so if you want to vacuum first and then scrub, it is best to put the normal tank first (or the mixed one without water), and then put the mixed one with water.

    • Perfect, thank you very much for the information. I also read that, by having the vacuum tank in front and the mop behind, I can skip the first vacuuming pass and put it in mopping mode from the beginning, since it will vacuum just before mopping.
Very good forum, thank you very much for your attention.

      Reply
      • Yes, exactly, Daniel, that is the idea that it does it at the same time, it is not necessary to do a dry pass first, as happens with some other robot (another thing is that even so, some users prefer to do it separately :- ))

  8. Hello. I am very happy with how it works, but I have a problem that I cannot solve. When it has been charging for more than a day it gives one beep and then another and so on. It does not keep a time pattern or when it starts or the time between beep and beep or logic. The battery is charged and everything is fine. The only solution is to turn it off with what it entails.
The beeps are at any time of day or night and we don't know what to do but if it continues like this we will have to return it.
The charging contact is fine like everything else but it is unpredictable
If you can help me, we would not like to return it but for now it makes our lives very uncomfortable, especially when it starts at night. Thank you so much.

    • Hi, I've only had it for 2 days. Conga 1590 and I have a question.
I fill the mixed tank with water with the idea of vacuuming the entire house and, when I return to the base, mopping the entire house.
But I find that the robot is already leaving the water groove from the beginning, that is, in Auto mode. The mop is soaked from the beginning and combines the vacuuming and mopping functions.
I had the Conga 1090 and I changed the vacuum and mop tank depending on what I needed, that's why I don't know if I'm using the mixed tank correctly.
Thank you very much in advance and greetings

  11. Hello, María, thank you for visiting our website.

There is no need to turn off the robot; Once charged, it will remain on standby, so you will have it available to work whenever you need it. What is usually recommended (both this manufacturer and others) is to have the robot in the charging base, turned on (as we indicated, once charged, it will be waiting, and consumption is minimal). According to several manufacturers, it is the best way to proceed with the battery. It would only be advisable to turn it off if it is going to be unused for a long time (for example, a month).

  12. Hello, I have read your article regarding the Conga 1590, very good, thank you.
However, I still have the doubt I was looking for. I bought the Conga It's been two weeks and I have questions about the battery and charging. It is always in its base, once it has been charged it turned off the Conga, however when I turn it back on it seems that it has been almost completely discharged. What could it be due to? How should you proceed with charging so that the battery lasts and also extends its life?

    Thanks in advance, regards. Maria.
