Born in 1962, Taurus is today the head of a multinational business group, with a presence on all continents, operating in more than 80 countries through a wide network of distributors.
In addition to the Taurus brand itself, the group includes other well-known brands, such as Solac, Casals, Turmix, Inalsa or Practika. Also is the creator of the famous Mycook kitchen robots, positioning itself as one of the main competitors of Thermomix (which it surpasses in some aspects, such as, for example, in the use of induction technology).
History of Taurus
The history of Taurus begins in 1962, the year it was founded by Francesc Bretiu. In 1963 a collaboration with the French company Elaul began, and In 1964 it already had an assembly line with 6 workers.
In the XNUMXs, the company experienced strong growth, and between 1965 and 1969 it built four industrial warehouses to carry out its manufacturing processes, with very successful products, such as coffee makers, fans and blenders.
In the seventies, The company is now completely self-sufficient, integrating the design, manufacturing and assembly processes in its own industrial centers. At the end of the decade, its expansion in Latin America began.
In the early eighties, its first major advertising campaign is a great success, with a slogan referring to its appliances that is becoming famous: "Thinking with your head." In 1986 an iconic blender hits the market, the Bapitaurus.
In 1997, the company was acquired by two businessmen, and The Golf line of vacuum cleaners is launched on the market, with a beautiful design in various colors and a great sales success.
The 2000s are those of the international consolidation of the company, creating subsidiaries, factories, R&D centers and logistics platforms throughout the world.
In 2005 another of the brand's milestones occurred, with the creation of the Mycook brand for kitchen robots; In 2007, the Taurus Mycook was launched on the market., the first induction kitchen robot.
The success of Mycook extends to the present, today with models as advanced as the Mycook Touch, with Wifi connection, touch screen and step-by-step guided cooking, to make becoming a chef easier than ever.
In 2009, two well-known brands join the group, the legendary DIY brand Casals, and Winsor, dedicated to hair care.
In 2011, other brands join the group, such as Mini Moka, Alpatec and White & Brown, to which Lucky and Práctika were added in 2012.
In 2014, an exclusive website was created for Mycook and joins the Solac group, a brand with a very long history (in 2016 it turned 100 years old), specialist in steam, with a strong presence in coffee makers, vacuum cleaners, irons and personal care.
In 2015 its flagship product hits the market, the Taurus Mycook Touch, the first kitchen robot connectable via Wi-Fi.
In 2018, Taurus Group reaches an agreement with the multinational Black & Decker for the marketing of small kitchen and ironing appliances of the American brand.
