Neato Robotics is an American company born in 2005, from the Annual Stanford Entrepreneur Challenge.
It shows several parallels with another large North American robot company, the world leader, iRobot., founded by three researchers from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Both are focused on creating well-built robot vacuum cleaners, with high quality and excellent performance.
Since September 2017, Neato Robotics has been integrated into the German group Vorwerk, manufacturer of the Thermomix kitchen robot, a company with more than 130 years of history and more than 13.000 employees, and a turnover of around 3.000 million euros annually, although it continues operating independently.

A company of advanced technology and design
In the case of Neato, it is a company in which technology is a fundamental aspect, so has been a pioneer in the implementation – or creator – of many advances that we can enjoy today.
In 2010, it launched its first robot vacuum cleaner, the Neato XV-11, which already had its traditional D shape. This model already had a upgradeable firmware, through a mini USB port.
In 2011 he would manufacture this model, with some improvements, for the German manufacturer Vorverk, under the name Vorverk VR-100.
Already in 2012, it launched a robot guided by laser technology and with room mapping., the Neato XV-21; This robot was programmable and incorporated a combined brush, especially for collecting animal hair.
In 2013, it launched its XV Signature Pro models, which provided a 50% higher suction power.
In March 2014, it launched its first robot called “Botvac”. It had a filter and a larger tank than previous models, a larger brush closer to the edge of the robot, to improve dirt collection, and it was quieter. In addition, its battery was more efficient, improving autonomy.
From there, the models that today are still the hallmark of Neato began to be launched, and which compete with the best robots on the market. Devices such as the successful Botvac Connected, the Botvac D85, or the components of the D series, from 3 to 7 (D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7), which today make up its range of robots, presented between 2016 and 2018 .
