Electrolux, a European manufacturer with more than a century of history

Electrolux

Electrolux is one of the most important manufacturers of household appliances worldwide. The Swedish brand offers a complete range of sled, bag and cyclonic vacuum cleaners. Robust and well-built devices, with the elegance of Nordic design, and full of qualities that have earned them high ratings from their users..

The UltraSilencer range stands out for its silence, thanks to the motor suspension technology, the reinforcement of the insulation, the redesign of the air flows inside the machine, its low profile brush and long bristles, or its soft wheels, which cushion noise.

In the field of stick vacuum cleaners, it also has various possibilities—both corded and battery-powered—that have great power and versatility, making them effective and very complete devices: lithium battery, brush that rotates up to 180º, brush technology roll clean (to cut hair by pressing a button), LED lights, etc.

Electrolux History

Electrolux is a Swedish company with more than 100 years of history. It arose after the merger of two companies, Elektromekaniska and AB Lux, which were dedicated to the manufacture of lamps (hence their names, related to electricity and light). It adopted its current name, a union of the other two, in 1919 (initially it was written Elektrolux, with "k", which was modified in 1957, giving rise to its current name).

While its founder, Axel Wenner-Gren, was walking through Vienna, he saw a vacuum cleaner in operation that came from the United States (remember that the first devices arose there), and decided to produce this type of machine in Europe, for which they had to be more smaller and cheaper than the one I had seen (which weighed more than 20 kilos).

Its first model, the Lux I, launched on the market in 1900, weighed 14 kilograms, and sold for just over half that of a North American vacuum cleaner.. After the outbreak of World War I, exports stopped, and Wenner-Gren used this break to redesign the device and make it truly portable.

The Model V, in 1921, was designed to lie on the ground on two thin metal runners. This innovation would become a standard for home vacuum cleaners for years.

In 1926, Electrolux introduced a bacteria filter that cleaned the exhaust air, a real innovation at the time.

Thanks to these innovations, after the armed conflict, Electrolux resumed its exports with great success, selling in a large part of Europe: United Kingdom, Denmark, Holland, Switzerland, France, Norway...

Such was the success of Electrolux vacuum cleaners, that they were not able to manufacture to supply all the demand they had., so the company opened its first factory outside Sweden, in Germany, which was followed by others in Great Britain and France, and later, in the XNUMXs, in the United States and Australia.

Already in the 30s, Electrolux began to dedicate large amounts of resources to the design of its appliances, hiring important industrial designers, who began to create the elegance that still characterizes the Swedish brand today.

The company's international growth continued in the following decades, not only based on the reliability and design of its products, but also with some important acquisitions of other companies., such as the Italian Zanussi, the American WhiteConsolidated (manufacturer of White Westinghouse), or the white goods division of the German AEG.

Electrolux is committed to ecology. For this reason, its Green collection is made with 70% recycled plastic. Furthermore, if you opt for an UltraSilencer, you will have one of the quietest models on the market, even below 60 decibels!

Between them, highlights its Green range (the SilentPerformer Green, for example, is the most valued among special vacuum cleaners for parquet), and the UltraSilencer, the quietest on the market (among them, the imposing UltraSilencer Zen, which with its 58 decibels, is a design prodigy). They also incorporate the excellent UltraOne Quattro, a 4A vacuum cleaner, with great efficiency and exceptional performance on any surface.

In the field of stick vacuum cleaners, it also has a complete range, capable of satisfying all types of needs. The UltraPower stands out, a very complete and versatile stick vacuum cleaner, but it is also possible to purchase a corded stick vacuum cleaner, to guarantee a continuous flow of power, like the ZS345A, or special stick vacuum cleaners for those who have pets, such as ZB3230P (which is also 2 in 1).
