Vacuum Cleaner Performance

As we have already said, Dyson invented the cyclonic vacuum cleaner because observed that vacuum cleaners with a bag decreased their performance as the bag became full. Nowadays, there are some bag models that avoid this problem (the S-bag).

In any case, keep in mind: if you choose a bagless vacuum cleaner, you won't have that inconvenience. If you choose it with a bag (and this is not an S-bag), do not wait until it is completely full to change it, if you want maximum efficiency.

Keep clean filters and nozzles It will also help you in this regard.

Help your vacuum cleaner maintain the perfect parquet

Your vacuum cleaner helps you have your impeccable house, but to do this, you must also help your vacuum cleaner. Paraphrasing JF Kennedy, don't ask yourself what your vacuum cleaner can do for you, but rather what you can do for your vacuum cleaner.

Therefore, it doesn't hurt to follow these tips for perfect cleaning. In particular, to take good care of your parquet, you must:

  • Clear the area cleanr: If there is furniture or other objects in the area to be cleaned, there may be collisions that cause damage to the vacuum cleaner and/or scratches on the floor. Put them aside, and you will save yourself problems.
  • Remove small objects that may be on the floor, susceptible to being sucked. When they are vacuumed, in addition to potential damage and blockages in the vacuum cleaner, they could damage the floor.

Special brush for parquet

Pay special attention to this accessory. If you want to take care of your parquet so that it looks like the first day, it is best that your vacuum cleaner has a brush with soft bristles, which instead of scratching the floor caress him.

In addition, you will have to make sure that the brush is clean before starting cleaning. If it has sand, pebbles or any other hard element, it could damage the parquet.

Y use the brush only to clean the wood (that is, when you are going to vacuum another type of floor, or a carpet, change it).

Wheels for wooden floors

In the same way, parquet vacuum cleaners have soft rubber wheels to avoid leaving marks on the wood.

Rowenta RO3753 wheel

Rowenta RO3753 wheel

In any case, It is advisable to check and clean the wheels periodically, since dirt can get stuck, which could damage the wood.

The way you clean is also important

In addition to using a proper posture, to avoid back problems, It is important not to press the brush excessively against the floor, but rather to slide it gently across the parquet. And if you are only going to do a specific cleaning and you don't feel like using the vacuum cleaner, perhaps a mop will be enough.

  1. Good afternoon.
I am interested in purchasing a bagless sled vacuum cleaner to vacuum my wooden floors, which occupy about 70 m2 of the house. (I clean the kitchen and bathroom floors with a traditional broom).
I really appreciate the size they occupy, since the place where I usually keep the vacuum cleaner cannot exceed 27 or 28 cm. Tall.
Therefore, after reading quite a bit, I am between these two models:
    Philips FC 9333/09
    Bosch BGS41K332
I have read your complete articles on both models and I see that they have a fairly similar score, but I can't decide on one in particular, since there are things that I like about the Philips and there are others that I see better in the Bosch.
For example, the Philips, I see that it has a smaller tank, the cable length is 6 meters and it does not have adjustable power, so it will always be working at maximum, with its consequent electrical consumption. Its noise level does not exactly make it one of the quietest. As advantages, it is much lighter and more compact and the brushes it has seem to be of better quality. It will also be more manageable.
The Bosch, at first, seems much more robust and better finished, but it also makes it heavier and less manageable.
It has 1 meter more cable and its sound level is much lower than that of the Philips. Your deposit is also much larger. Its consumption at maximum power would only be 550 W, compared to 900 for the Philips. But its price is much higher than that of the Dutch model.
To help me choose, I have doubts about which one has greater suction power, which one offers better filtering and, ultimately, which one can be considered the most efficient vacuum cleaner in terms of performance and energy consumption.
The least relevant aspects would be the tank capacity, the length of the cable and even the weight and maneuverability of the vacuum cleaner.
Therefore, I would like to receive your evaluation to help me decide between one model and another.
    Thank you very much.
By the way, if you consider any other model that could also fit me due to dimensions, do not hesitate to tell me.

    • Hello, Jorge, thank you for visiting our website.

We see that you have already studied it enough!! :-). The summary between these two models would be what you indicate, overall the Bosch is better, although the price difference is considerable. As an alternative to the Philips, within the same brand you have the FC9332 / 09, very similar (basically, the change is the color), which right now is at a better price. Other interesting bagless vacuum cleaners that have had great success are the AEG LX7-2-CR-A, with good equipment and notable filtering, and in Rowenta, the RO4825 y RO4871 (more equipped than the previous one). We hope you find it of interest.

    • Thank you very much for the reply. In fact, I have carefully read all the characteristics of both, although it seems that in terms of performance the Shunzao is a little more advantageous in terms of suction power, I can't find many reviews about it. at least here in Spain, something that there are much more opinions and demonstrations about the dreame despite having only been on the market for a few months. Could you tell me regarding after-sales service and subsequent maintenance, which one offers greater guarantees and better service?

thank you very much in advance once again

  2. very good I am currently at the crossroads of which cordless vacuum cleaner to buy. After many comparisons and considering the price, I think that both the dreame xr premium and the shunzao z11 pro would be two good choices. I would like you to offer me your opinion, and above all which brand offers 'greater reliability' and guarantee if necessary, as well as after-sales service. Thanks in advance. all the best

    • Hello again, Adrián, certainly, the Shunzao has somewhat better performance, but it is still a brand with less running, recently launched on the market, so there are not many reviews, nor a history in that sense; Therefore, we could not add much more to what you already mention. In short, the Shunzao would be better, but for the purposes of reliability and after-sales guarantee, perhaps the Dreame is better, but not because in the case of Shunzao it is not good, but because it is more unknown, we have no history.

      All the best
