In any case, it is also true that we have to put up with it for less time, since we do not have to vacuum first and then mop, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer a silent vacuum cleaner.
It is not a light device. Although it is a stick vacuum cleaner, you will see that it is heavier than this type of device usually is, as it weighs more than 4 kilograms. It's not a big drawback, since it's usually resting on the ground (and has a good base), but it may be something to consider for some people.
The instructions do not come in Spanish, at least, in the unit we have tested (perhaps it already has them now). In any case, as we mentioned, it is very easy to use, and we put the translation at the end of this article, so that it is not an inconvenience.
What users think of the Bissell Vac & Steam

We have received the device correctly packaged. The instructions did not come in Spanish (despite coming in a lot of languages!), but — as we told you before — we have translated them and we put them at the end of the article. In any case, the device It is quite intuitive and easy to assemble. Additionally, in the video you can see how easy it can be to vacuum and mop at the same time with the Vac and Steam.
However, we will briefly tell you how to use it, to make it easier for you if you decide to buy this device.
The Bissell Vac & Steam is very easy to assemble, it only has two parts, the main body and the foot of the vacuum cleaner. In the body, it includes the 400 ml water tank, and It has a fairly long cable, about 7,5 meters, so that it allows you to vacuum the entire house without having to change the plug. (depending on the size of the home, of course).
Its handling is simple:
Preparation
The height of the handle is adjusted by pressing the tab with one hand and pulling with the other hand.
Fill the water tank (at room temperature), using the measuring cup, so as not to overdo it.
It plugs in. It takes about 30 seconds to heat the water. At first use, it might make a noise for a few seconds (tack tock tock).
Bissell Vac and Steam: How to Use
Once we have the hot water, we can get to work.
There are 3 buttons, 2 to regulate the steam, HI (a lot of steam) and LO (less steam), and VAC (which activates the vacuum cleaner).
It has 2 mops, one smooth and white, for light cleaning, and another rough and striped, for deeper cleaning (or more stubborn stains).
The device can work only as a vacuum cleaner, only as a steam cleaner or as a combination of the two, combining both functions. For us, what we liked the most is this last possibility.
- The combination of a steam mop and a cyclonic vacuum cleaner, used at the same time, seems like a great idea to us. You vacuum up the dirt and debris that may be on the floor, and at the same time you clean with steam, sanitizing and leaving the floors shiny with the mop.
A great time saver, and an excellent result. And very ecological, since only water is used, without chemicals.
In addition, The high temperature of the steam eliminates up to 99,9% of germs and bacteria, and combined with the mop, it ensures that the floor remains practically dry as we work., so there is no wait, as happens with traditional mops.
Bissell Vac and Steam: conclusions
The Bissell Vac and Steam combines two functions: vacuuming and steam mopping. In both cases, it works fine.
The cyclonic vacuum cleaner sucks strongly, thanks to its 1.600 watts of power. We can vacuum all types of surfaces, both hard floors and carpets (in this case, without the steam function), with good results.
For its part, the steamer allows you to use two power levels and, in combination with the washable microfiber mops that it incorporates, leaves the floors spotless. They look brighter and cleaner. Using the air freshener discs, it leaves a pleasant fragrance.
We loved the combination of both functions. On hard floors, we have used the cyclone vacuum cleaner with the steam cleaner simultaneously, and the result is great. The vacuum cleaner sucks up most of the dirt, and the steam mop finishes the job, removing some dirt that may be stuck to the floor, and making it shiny.
The duration of the tank, between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on how much steam is used, has been sufficient to clean a medium-sized floor.
The device weighs 4,6 kilograms, which may be a bit heavy for some people (if you are used to other stick vacuum cleaners, which are generally lighter, you will notice the difference). But it has a good support base and you don't have to carry it in the air, so it isn't a big inconvenience either.
